2005 E55 AMG
Guys,
On this website >> http://www.showmetheparts.com/akebono/
Their is no listing for a 2003 e55 amg, only 2004 and up. Why is that? What is different about the 2003 and 2004 front brakes?

No i didn't. Your English makes no sense. Their has to be something different about the brakes between the 2 models. Akebono doesn't make mistakes like that and leave an entire year out of it's database.

Without going out and measuring mine, I'm pretty sure they are 360mm, and the Racing Brake replacements are stated as 360mm

There's a picture of a new OEM disc on the ECS tuning site and you can see a code printed on the disc as C230 360. I take the 360 to be the diameter (?)

Okay you have a 2005 E55 so it shouldn't matter to you. Lots of places don't see 2003 E55s since most of them were built in late 2003 so they just put 2003-2004 together. There isn't a difference at all!

Sorry the calipers are different sizes, not rotors! Sorry for the mistake

hey MB homies, i have 22k on my 2011 e63...brake pad wear light just came on the other day. i guess im driving it kinda hard or i dunno. the Akebonos pads sound ideal and there price is pretty good, unfortunately they dont make them for my model. anyways im feeling the EBC redstuff pad ((sounds like it would be easier on the stock rotors then the yellowstuff(is this true??)) Has anyone missed with Centric pads off of amazon??

i really dont wanna kill my rotors!! will this happen with the EBC pads?!?!?...im getting some mixed opinions out here... not cool. one guy is loving them and the next guy is swearing they killed 2 sets of rotors within a year...thats cray... that sh*t is expensive. it would be nice to save over 500 on a simple brake pad install, stuff is pretty easy to install..the stealership sucks...anyways chime in guys!!! REMEMBER IT IS A E63!

Amazing the disinformation on here.
Folks, braking is done by friction. Flat surface against flat surface. Over time rotors no loner have a true flat surface. Simply installing new pads on a worn rotor does not offer improved braking as now you have a new flat surface (pad) against an old rotor which is no longer flat. By driving around you are now placing additional heat on the new pad which in turn can lead to glazing and of course decreased braking (less surface contact area) . You can be very gentle on your new setup for 500-1000 miles and' hope' the new pads bed into the old rotor.
Stop pinching pennies and buy new rotors. This coming from someone that has turned well over 2000 rotors/drums and had my own lathe until I decided it was no longer worth to even turn them (you lose meat)!
Best scenerio-new pads/new rotors. Bottom line. Do not allow your wallet to blur reality.
Also, contrary to the newbie belief that squeak comes from the pad surface. In many cases, especially multi piece calipers it is hardware, not the friction, that causes squeal.
Glazing, (overheating, improper break-in, old rotor) , pad material (EBC Reds comes to mind) can cause squeal.
If you recently replaced your pads and prefer to change, then mic out your rotor for surface irregularities, if recent, many times you can just slap in pads, but if you have 30k miles on them, get real.

reviving the old thread here, need to do brakes again LOL
My replacements were Benzworks Rotors and OEM Pads. I don't think Benzworks are around anymore? also evosport?

After my recent experience dealing with them buying new rear air springs for my E63 I will do nothing but recommend them to people. 100% one of the best parts companies I've done business with. They know how to treat customers.

I'm here to say I like EBC pads on my car (stock rotors).
FCP Euro lists genuine front Brembos for $450 a pop, FWIW.

add me to the FCP Euro satisfied customer list. Recently had an issue that needed some customer service attention. Kyle resolved it quickly, efficiently, and above my expectations. Zero questions asked. Like, zero hassle. I highly recommend them
