What's it like to get walked by a tuned SLS? Come on in and find out...
MHP v3 SLS on 93 octane vs OE SL600 on 93 octane
Run#1 - He jumped me on the honks. I thought I was honking it off, but he beat me to it and caught me a bit by surprise. Doesn't matter though....he just kept pulling up to about 140-something.
Run2 - He gets the jump again, but not as bad. Again, just pulls away up to about 140.....
All of my quick times were in winter air, at MIR on a mix of 100 and 93 octane, so I know I wasn't at full tilt. But still, that thing put what....3-4 cars on me from 60-140ish? Impressive...

WOW, thanks for sharing. SLS has DCT 7-speed dual-clutch and weight about 3600lbs that help a lot. And your wheels are huge.....

Weight, tranny, etc... as mentioned clearly helps the SLS...
I wish the M157's got the DCT- it really is that much better of a tranny than MCT.

Yeah the SLS is a car with an interesting setup. I saw the car's real potential when Weistec added a supercharger.

Your car weight so much more....... The SLS curb weight 3600Lbs not sure if the true weight of the whole car. Even my 55 has pano weight about 4200 only compare to 4370lbs.

Clayton, right before you guys took off, I got the the keys to his E63 Biturbo. I too, got on the freeway ramp where you guys did, but got caught at the light a few cars back. I saw your runs from behind, I wish we could have gotten the E63 in the mix too, it would have been epic, three wide. That car is insane, and I would not be to bummed about the loss brotha!

Another thing, that day was hot as hell, and heat will not effect a N/A motor like it will a V12 Twin Turbo. I bet if you ran on a 45* day out, with only you in the car, and the SLS driver in his car, it will be a whole different ball of wax. I just dont see the SLS trapping or ET'ing much better than your PB runs at MIR.
Did you drive the SLS too, which was quicker out of that and the E63?

Bingo. My IATs were 140* at cruising during those pulls. Not sure what they peaked at, to be honest. And my car responds well to a little bit of race fuel, even without a race tune, which I didn't have. Anyway, was still fun, and not a whole lot of people can say that they piloted a tuned E63 Biturbo, a tuned SLS and tuned SL600 V12TT back to back to back. Was a fun *** day to be sure.....
The E63 will beat the SLS as bad as the SLS beat me. The V8 Biturbo was no joke.

Thanks for the compliments, gents.
Maybe the SLS shows at the big MIR event, where I can level the playing field a bit. As I told E55Bullet, I assure you, the deathstar is fully operational. Put my country *** back on the strip where I belong and we'll see what's what. Gonna need a 10.9x to trip the lights on me.
Just need to pray for cold air.

ECU/TCU
BMC filters
Muffler delete
That's my list.
Bruce at TTM was kind enough to give me the plumbing needed to do a simple fang intake on the car, but I've yet to fit it. I finally got it trimmed up to right length, I think, but life has gotten in the way.
It'll be fitted for MIR, but I'll stay with stock cooling. My goal was to dip her in the 10s with just the above mods. So close....

SLS vs SL600
Clayton,
You were at also at higher altitude. My SL is much more temp sensitive than a NA car, especially after running it hard until things cool back down a little, but you know that better than I do.
I was fortunate enough to drive a stock SLS not long ago, awesome machine, and it was pretty stout out of the box. Throw in a tune....and...wow.
From the vids, your car looked to be running just fine to my eyes, I'd also venture the same race just might end differently under 40 degree Fahrenheit conditions.
