Guys, new motor is in the car. Still waiting on the Dashdaq and I had my wife mail in my ASP 175 to lower the boost a bit. Glad I didn't sell that thing.
Big thanks to Shardul for keeping an eye on her in the shop. He's there now sending me pictures and it's killing me.
I should be flying into Houston on Friday to pick her up and hopefully get some dyno tuning. Can't wait! Tired of schlepping around in this little ford Focus. I miss my torque monster.

With the huge lack of members data logging, and watching A/F's its really hard to tell exactly what happened with this situation or any of the others. For those that do log and watch A/F's

Jeremy wanted me to stick with the ASP pulley. Plus, with the 180 and the upper pulley, it was falling off pretty bad on the top end even with the heat exchanger. Upper pulley was not locked or seized or anything.
My advice to all is to spend the money up front to data log and keep an eye on your stuff. I had it planned out to have the Dashdaq installed, but I should have done it later.
I still don't know what caused it, but somebody back at the beginning of the thread mentioned bad gas. After thinking about that, I did fill up in the middle of nowheresville, TX not long before that happened. I was still in "91" country out there. Probably a longshot, but not impossible.
The RTR was still going straight and strong with no issues other than too much torque for the puny tires.

Very quick recovery!!!! NICE.
So I am back from my long ban. Craig, WTF has been going on. Being banned, I never even jumped on, but I see you selling a car, and parts, and are running an E85 beast. Holy crap.. I guess I need to go back and see what has transpired in the last 4 month. (Edit - 5 months)
I cant believe how helpful everyone was when Dennis broke.. Awesome to see the forum deliver. I look forward to Dennis' return to SD

Hell yeah.
If anything, this experience has shown me that we need to make a crew in SD to be as awesome as the Houston crew. These guys rock!
And welcome back, misbehaver!

Anybody can tune a vehicle at full throttle, it's when the tuner does part throttle street driving is when you find good tuners especially on F/I cars. During part throttle, the engine can lean out but normally it doesn't cause damage. If the vehicle is under load, high rpm, part throttle, bad gas etc., under the correct circumstances there is a chance of catastrophic engine failure.

Its very hard to tune before 3200 rpms as the ecu is target shooting your a/f and with your added boost and massive load is a big reason for your car letting go.
Call and ask kleemann and they will confirm.you were prolly in the hi 14-15s and also at peak engine torque.
Just take a look at every e55 dyno on how lean they run down low.this was my biggest concern with my car and you can see in my SIG dyno that its in the 15s at 575rwt at the start of the pull...that is only with a 178 pulley so just imagine where my car would be with a 200mm pulley around 2200 rpms.
I avoid 4th gear at all cost under 4k and never strain the motor in that range because I know its already lean.you can fatten it up with bigger injectors but the rest of the tune will go pig rich in the summer heat.
Once its back together post up you a/f if you can and sticking to a 175 is sick and you will love the car with it.

You also bring up part throttle/load tuning now since I too have seen lower a/f number and more tourqe when the blower has more load on it.
Maybe there was just the right amount of load(part throttle) and the ecu went lean with a **** load of boostand part throttle timing ccurves are in the 30s on timing so that can get messy also if the car desides to lean out and run 30 degrees with 5th gear load at 3000 rpms

I'll have to check on the correct name of the sensors, but I got what I think are the ZT-2 and Zt-3 (or ZT-1). Should be having the same setup as Bramage for complete information overload. I believe his current setup gives him the internal temperature of his beanbag, refreshed 60 times per second, of course.

Oh, an I wanted to add that I got the optional nav ability with the Dashdaq. Since our nav system kinda sucks, I figured it would be worth it. I'll post a review eventually.

FWIW, I'm a mustang guy going back to the 80's and had the pleasure of owning a dyno-dynamics dyno.
I'm not sure what all the capabilities of the Dasdaq are but at some point you'll want to add a good wideband AFR sensor (innovate) and gauge as well as a fuel pressure gauge to your cockpit.
I'm 1 week new to my E55 so I do not know how soon boost come in, but I'd bet its by 2800 RPMs. So part throttle = full boost + high load with the twin screw blower.
Glad to see you could get resources together and get back on the road...Good luck!

I have a 4th gear dyno on a dyno that puts load on the car and the owner stopped the pull when he saw 14s in the heart of the torque band.

I dunno, but I doubt part throttle tuning has anything to do with it.

The Zeitronix primary role is that of a high speed wide band AFR sensor. The ZT-2 provides a number of additional inputs, the ZT-3 does AFR only, which is fine for the second bank.
As Denroll's set up will be similar, here is what I have:
ZT-2
AFR bank 1
RPM (from ECU)
TPS (From ECU)
Boost (Boost sensor)
AIT (OBDII Plug)
ZT-3
AFR Bank 2
I also use the Zeitronix Alarm module as my Methanol trigger. This allows me to set multiple parameters. I use TPS and Boost
Dash Daq provides (via OBDII)
Timing
ECT
O2 Sensor voltage
Speed
ect...
Logging takes place on the Dashdaq via a SDHC card, and makes it very easy to log and review, even at the track.

Oh wow, that looks familiar Dane.
Thanks for all the help.
I have the same setup, as well as an EGT probe in #8 as Jeremy mentioned this helps qualify safe AFR's in relation to IAT.

The heads have been pulled and cyl #2 was the only damaged. The rest, other than being a little black from the richness, showed no heat or detonation damage. Brooke said everything else was amazingly clean. Definitely was not an issue with the tune, so all of our part/full throttle discussion was just for fun.
Cyl 2 was definitely starved of fuel and at this point, the likely culprit was a clogged injector. Ted at M.Power Houston, the guy who did the swap, said that the car ran really rough after everything was swapped to the new engine. Putting stock injectors in resolved the issue. He cleaned my injectors and put them back in and the problem was gone.
Anyhow, I go to pick up the car here in a few hours after I shake off a mild hangover. There is still the issue of the tune that has to be solved. As you know, I have an OE tune on my car. OE and Eurocharged are in direct competition with each other, which is obvious. Eurocharged's shop is 15 minutes away. Jerry, being the stand-up guy he is, has offered up his dyno for me to use... To let OE tune my car. Isn't that something?
