New Member - Hi
I have been lurking around this forum for a long time, and upon picking up an E55, I decided it would be beneficial to join and participate.
I see that most newbie questions are answered with: did you search... I have found that search does not work very well, and on top of that I am lazy, so I may ask some stupid questions....
I'm currently stationed in San Diego, and it appears there are a couple of other members in SD here. Ill try to catch these guys at some point.
Car:
2004 E55 AMG
Tectite Grey
Stock
My first mod will be Wheels, and I am leaning towards Forgestar CF5, but based on may posts, it looks like the lead time is horrible. For now, Ill watch the classifieds.
That's all I have for now, glad to be here.

Eurocharged has a sale now with Forgestar rims.
You are going to have lead time issues with any custom wheel manufacturer.
I suggest you look into them as ive heard no other gripes.
Welcome to the club
Dont know any one in SD but im sure there are a few.
Dare i ask what kind f questions did you have?

On the wheels, I already checked with Jerry- 5 weeks. Not too bad, but I wonder if that is do-able (does 5 tun into 10?)
Questions.. hmm...
Anyone running larger tires on 19" wheels? (245/40-19 285/35-19) I love the look of 19's, but roads here are horrible, and I see a lot of bent wheels. I'm thinking Ill go 18", but if I fitted a larger diameter tire on the 19, I would solve (or minimize) the pot hole problem. Curious what it would do to performance, ABS, Traction control (I will lower soon)
Where can I buy a new cup holder (MB / cheap)... Ebay is around $80, and I need a new one

Looks good, but I don't know how you guys can stand rollin' around in a stock car...

(btw - not me driving... had to operate the camera.)
Tektite looks sharp when you mod it.... B) My 55 is Tektite, and looks better every day.

Looks like the green hornet, German Edition!! lol
Dealer cleaned it up REAL nice. Car was traded in at same dealership where it was purchased new.
Bone (and I mean BONE) stock. Service records for all maintenance since day one. The previous owner even replaced tires at the dealership. I know a woman owned it, and looking it over (and under), I think the car was babied big time. Not to fear, Ill take care of that
Already left a couple black marks around town, and one in my shorts when I got on it a little hard. I have a feeling this car can get people in trouble if not careful.

I strongly advise you to look up the thread called "Holy crap!! Sneaky ECU reset works!!" and give it a try. When I first got it to work I felt like I went from an E350 to a funny car... all depends on the previous drivers driving habits though.
