E55 in the shop...

I figure I've put 7K miles on the car - not sure how old the belt is anyways - so a $30 fix is pretty cheap and good insurance if the belt is older

I keep a spare belt and the tools to change it in my trunk... LMK if you want to pop one on your car real quick.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Hello MBworld, i am brand new to this fourm. I was hoping to get some feedback from you all. I purchased a stage 1 package from Eurocharged for my 2006 E55 and waited almost 2 months to get my parts "issues with their supplier they said" Well i finally got the parts "not what i origanaly ordered but was ok with the pullies they sent me 172mm vs 180mm. Had installed at the local Mercedes dealer and experienced a front main seal leak the following day. Mercedes took apart again and found that the milling on the pully was of poor quality and they had to take the groves off by hand with sandpaper which took 4 hours of their time. They called Eurocharged and they said that they have had some issues like this, yet this was not explained to me that this could be an issue when i purchased. Just courious if anyone else has had this happen? Car is done and the guys at EC worked with me do to the issues of waiting so long. BTW, the car runs like a bat out of hell....

Not slamming them just want to see if this was a one off or common with this companies products? I have a buddy wanting to do the same with his 2006 CLS 55 yet this has him a bit freaked out.
Thanks All

It sounds as if you were raped by the dealer. The pulley has nothing to do with sealing the engine, so if you really had oil leaks they were not from a pulley.
If you had oil leaks (e.g. from valve cover) and the dealer fixed, well then great.

Amazingly ABS did not trigger so the brakes were still doing fine, it wasn't panic braking. So I think my run was one of those, "Check that box" sort of life moments. Plus I'm afraid without a rail and new injectors I'll risk the motor if I do it again. Almost 13,000 youtube views though, how cool is that!

Thanks again.
Alex
