E55K engine what can it take!!

There is so many work shops starting to sell larger Supercharger kits for E55k. Is there any point even looking at getting one if u have stock bottom end & stock head! For example if u have a over kill 1500hp fuel set up fitted to the E55k so there will be no pig/knock no leaning out! What is the max power the pistons & rings & head parts can take safely!

Even with proper fueling you can blow a motor with bad timing. Everyone will have different opinions on what the stock motor will take so its just speculation but i'm sure we will get a better idea when people start tinkering with the new Whipple setups when released. Invest in 55k motors not gold loll jk

Reckon u add some forged pistons and you could do 1000+hp if not more. The block is rock solid - its the pistons that have shown weakness so far. But as has been said a bad tune will kill any engine no matter how strong.

I read about the pistons as well. The big questions is how much would it cost for stronger pistons and how much would it cost to have them put in. It may be worth it to wait until we can see how far the W212 can go especially if the cost to replace pistons is extremely high.

Under $2k for forged mahle pistons. If your cylinder walls aren't scratched up you're good to go. Labor depends on the shop but if you can do it yourself you can save a ton i'm sure

The block isn't as rock solid as you would think. Its an open deck design and that does limit the power it can handle alot. As far as stock engines go i've made 831hp/931tq on nitrous and the motor was fine. Like Ahmad said it all depends on the tune. A bad tune can kill a 300hp motor faster than a decent tune on a 600hp motor with bad fueling. The engine build i'm going for will be for over 1000hp on spray so lets see how it goes.

Forged Mahle slugs sound like a nice ticket, and if you keep your power level at 700rwhp, that should be plenty, even 10's down in the FL summer heat

I like to push things for sure but I do try to help the results be the best they can at the same time. I wouldn't be to calm spraying a 150 shot on pump gas and wouldn't think about doing at the timing I was running either. For what it's worth no timing was pulled for the 150 shot on the dyno or fuel added by injectors but I was running Q16 to be as safe as possible. AFR's were 9.5-10.3 so there's actually power to be made from tuning that big of a shot but I didn't want to push to far with stock internals and backed it down.
