I am watching how the rear goes also. Mine were already replaced once and I expect them to fail again.

I've seen instructions of dropping the rear subframe. I don't understand that.

You can loosen the control arm and remove the bag that way. Or deflate the bag somehow and not need to loose then control arm.

The problem is with the factory reservoir. It's "permanently" attaced to the airbag and the only way to remove both still stuck together is by dropping the subframe. MB says that disconnecting the reservoir is a bad idea as it a seal cannot be garanteed if it's disconnected.

People have disconnected the reservoir and reconnected it with no issues so it's more BS than anything else...dropping the subframe is a major PITA which I'm not going to deal with. I'll take my chances disconnecting the reservoir.

Arnott's bags do not use this reservoir and they can be installed without dropping the subframe either.

So the new arnott bags do not use the remote reservoir at all?

Nope. Arnott also advertises it as a more "sporty" airbag, they say it's firmer.

No surge tank? Interesting. Does it make a direct up connect to the frame and air supply?

I realize you have not installed yet, but can't help but wonder.

It seems to install identically to the oem one but just doesn't have the reservoir.

Would it be possible to T in the current reservoir? This would add a dampening effect and soften the ride.

Nope, not possible unless you drill a hole into the housing of the Arnott air bellow and put a fitting it but I doubt anyone has the *****.

Haven't seen one in person just wondering if there might have been a plug or possible to T into the supply line. Might be a good suggestion for Arnott to have a connection to soften the ride.

The reservoir must be connected directly to the air spring. The supply line has a valve that would restrict it.

If you want a softer spring then just get the regular W211 arnott spring instead of the AMG one. It has a MUCH larger piston which makes it softer.

I didn't realize they had 2 types of airsprings for the W211. I thought there was only one style/size/partnumber.
