Part 2 of my airmatic issues.
Today my rear driver's side fell to the ground, for the second time since last week. Last week it went back up and didn't give me any trouble until today. Today it also went back up after turining it off for a while and it has stayed up just fine.
Soooo...can I assume it's the driver's side bellow that needs to be replaced? It can't be a regular leak since it only happens sometimes. Perhaps the bleed valve is getting stuck open and only after I turn the car off and on it'll correct it's self?
Perhaps someone with more experience in airmatic can help me? I just don't want to spend $800+ and not have it fix the problem. I also don't wish to convert to coils...after a while, I've kinda come to love airmatic.

If it was a leak, wouldn't it be more constant? It works great for a few days and then it drops like a rock, only to come back up and work fine for a few more days.
thanks.
I'm afraid it'll be too harsh...

The day after I read your other thread I noticed my passenger rear was dumped too randomly. I hope I'm not in for some trouble

Dont worry. I have gone thruu exactly the same thing. 6 months ago at winter time my rear driver side decided to drop one day. After restart it went straight up again and then after engine off it went down in half an hour again. It have done that theee days and then suddenly stop. No problem till today. I suspect momentaly cloged valve at the strut. Then it clears itself.

I thought so. I just ordered the arnott rear setup. I just hope mine holds until the arnotts arrive. Today it did it again.
I guess I'll be the first on the forum with the new arnott setup...I'll make sure to review them.

I found that the rubber will crack in a fold. Then wx cools down allowing the car to settle and opens the crack allowing air out. The car starts up pressure on the fold leak stops. This will continue until the crack spreads. In most cases the air bags will need replacing. I made 3 dealer trips until the bags failed so much the guy that brought the car out told me he thought it was a "low rider', and it was in for service for that exact problem. They installed a new compressor but not the air bags. The bags were the issue. I suspect they are your issue also.

If you allow to prolong not replacing the leaky airbags/strut, the pump will work overtime and eventually fail. It happens to all air suspension vehicles. Replace the leaky bag/strut asap to prevent the pump to fail due to longer duty cycle.

Good stuff. There is a repair kit for the WABCO pump as well, so you don't have to buy a new one if you have the time to open up the pump and repair the piston seal. I think the repair kit costs $50.

im worried mine is on the way out as well, passnager side sits about an inch lower than driver side. im hoping its leaks, if not the car is going on coils. hopefully the arnott stuff takes care of your problem

Best place is eBay. Cayenne folks have bought it from there. I don't think there's a US retailer. For my W220 and X5 4.8is, I just bought a new one from Arnott. Our Cayenne Turbo's air suspension has been pretty solid so far.
For the E63, I will buy a new one from Arnott.
But at least, here's for our reference for the piston repair kit:

Quote from the listing: It will also fit other car manufacturers using the same Wabco air suspension compressor, Landrover Discovery 2, Mercedes, BMW X5, Audi A8/Q7, VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and others.
MB, BMW, RR, Audi, Porsche, Touareg, etc. use WABCO as the OES of air compressor/dryer for the suspension. The reason why it's expensive is the dryer is built into the compressor as well.
