I am always amazed at some of the ideas and mods members come up with. Like this J pipe (https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...er-delete.html). If you have a mod on your car that is out of the ordinary or not main stream, post it here please...and share with the rest of us.

Can you post a pic of what you did or are you talking about the KC?

No, I have not do this to my car yet. I get the idea from the KC. Instead of running freon thru the KC to cool the water. why not just run the freon thru the ic directly?

I think the lack of thermal mass will be an issue

I have a Cobra HE mounted under my trunk. My split cooling runs from my trunk tank to supercharger to Eurocharged HE to Cobra HE then back to tank. The idea was to store cold water rather than hot water and expecting the single HE to cool it before it hits the SC. Now the hot water goes through both HEs and stores cooler water in the trunk tank.

At the track my IATs never went over 100. And on a 4th gear pull on the dyno to 180, the IATs never went over 110. Back to back pulls on the dyno and it only went to 120. It was 96 degrees on the dyno day.

Maybe an easier way to think about it is would you want our IC to be air to air since that is how well it would perform. It's actually a function of specific heat and the freon would be completely overwhelmed by the engine airflow. With the KC, you have alot of time to cool the water down. That benefit will go completely away if you went direct.

I started a rear mount intercooler set up with dual fans, but never finished the project. I was using a Frozzen Boost core with dual 6" fans. It fed the trunk tank, although it was plumed to be able to go after the tank output. The though was I could try both ways, and see what worked better.

Meth injection works so good, I just sorta put the project on hold.
