deleted resonator exhaust video of my new to me E63

hey guys, i've been modding my 2007 E63 since the day i got it a few weeks ago. i changed the front bumper (the one it came with was too messed up for repair) put smoked side markers on, tinted the windows, changed the license plate lights to LED (it's nice how the parking lights come factory LED) and finally recently deleted the resonators. it sounds great to say the least! eurocharged ECU flash coming very soon. enjoy

you can hear the backfire sounds at the very end of the video, it only does that when it comes down to ~20MPH sometimes. it actually sounds cool now that i know it's not detrimental for the engine.

here's a video of the car i got out of for the E63. this is my old C55.

Secondary cat delete should be the next step before your ecu flash.

why? does it make that much of a difference in power? i don't want more sound out of the car at this point, it's loud enough.

Max gains with the sec cats delete when getting a tune. Exhaust is the most restrictive part do the m156.

i won't say the exact location, but yes actually in that area.

no cabin noise when cruising, only when you accelerate moderately do you notice the difference. basically, when you want it to be loud, it'll be LOUD (my definition of loud at least). i will NOT be deleting the secondary cats, i will be getting the eurocharged ECU flash within the next few weeks, and looking for short tube headers maybe and a CF airbox. i want to do a rear diffuser or front lip, but haven't found any that i liked. i drive the car maybe twice a week so i don't have to worry about things breaking as much or racking up miles.

3 years down the road, hands down CLK black series.

because you're missing 0.8 liters danny does yours sound like my c55? i only deleted resonators on that too (interesting how the C55 only has one pipe going into the resonator, where my E63 needed 2) delete the secondary cats, you still pass California smog apparently.

Nice, I love that area, grew up there, went to California High, Lived by Black Hawk and different area's there. One very clean city, I remember when they used to repave the road every year.

Your plan and my plan are the same. I drive mine 2 times a week, max. And I'm already planning on a CLK black series in a few years.

I don't plan to get a tune, lip, or diffuser, however.

Michael and I went for a test drive after he got it done. I can vouch for the fact that the car sounds epic!

Michael, what's next?

By the way, I saw a CLK-GTR at Monterey last weekend. It is a seriously gorgeous car...

Car sounds great. I have had resonators and cats deleted then I had Tony at BIP do the tune. Major upgrade in HP. Car sounds awesome at speed, but when just cruising, you wouldn't know a thing. A true four door wolf in sheeps clothing !!!
Thanks for the vid. Good Luck with your projects.

Car sounds on point Michael. Definitely do a secondary cat delete and replace it with an x before an ecu flash

secondary cat delete won't throw a CEL. primary's will (right?)

if some members on here would film their cars with resonator and secondary cats delete outside and inside the car, that would be awesome. i'll do the ECU flash first since it's a free re-flash from eurocharged if you do other mods i believe. i would consider an X-pipe and keeping the secondary cats.

i read on here a year or so ago that changing out the drop in filters to any aftermarket brand like the green filters (those suck) or K&N actually make the car perform worse? is that right?

Yeah, I believe it did. The car isn't appreciating that much for some reason and buyers are hard to come by. Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale has had one on sale for a long time now... You really have to go to Pebble Beach and Monterey next year. RM Auctions alone sold over $96M that weekend. North Carolina is good so far! I went to Cars and Coffee a few weeks ago and saw a TT Gallardo, a bunch of Ferrari's, and an SL65 Black Series.

So far so good
