Based on this thread, it looks like there are 11 people interested, and one maybe.

These events need 30 to be cost effective, and 50 to be realistic. I think the reason Mo quit doing this is due to the lack of interest which equated to spending a lot of his own money to make up for the no shows.

It is very disappointing that there is not more interest.

The good news for those of us who really want to do this: Other forums seem to have a better handle, so Ill see if we can piggy back with the Mustang, Viper, or Corvette guy. Stay tuned, I have full expectations to get a Famoso run in this year. Going to start searching now

Any idea of a date ? also wondering if i need a cage- I would hate to drive all the way there and get kicked out after 1 pass.

I might be able to get 4 GTRs to go and maybe a viper.

Does anybody know who the owner of this Mercedes is? I was at Famoso yesterday (Feb 9th, 2013), and one of my passes was against a Mercedes that ran an 10.01 @ 139 mph!!!

I was not expecting that and was very impressed. If anyone knows who this is tell them great job--I love cars that surprise you, and that one surprised me!

Here it is on video--the first two passes are against this mercedes--the other parts of the video are just launch video shot at 120 fps.

I would like to understand how a Famoso event went off without me knowing!!

I have been waiting 2 years, and have been trying to watch the various forums for news. It sure looks like a private rental, but I did not put much research in... mainly 5 minutes on my iphone from the crapper.

Nonetheless ****!!!

I remember when this forum had a keen interest in 1/4 mile, and the fact that we get so few opportunities, I would have thought someone might have caught with of this. I guess it is just the way these things go.. people are more interested in the latest lighting modification.....


Now that I am done crying, if anyone hears of another event in the future, please share with us.

Now that I have some time to dig a little deeper, it looks like this was a test and tune weekend put on by Famoso vs. a typical private rental. The other thing: Looks like Famoso runs it similar to a private rental in that they are not booting cars doing under 11.5. The next scheduled Test and Tune is the 22nd - 24th. I am going...

Exactly---I just watch the famoso website and their facebook page. The Feb 9th event was for the first 100 that signed up.

Next event is the 3 day TNT you mention. I think I will go Sat/Sun.
