I have a Eurocharged TCU tune and love it! Raised limiters and quicker shifts. And since I'm running meth, I can run to 6900rpms and still have full power. One of the best mods I've done.

Mine only sees the streets, has not seen a track yet, but I love my TCU, crisper shifts, and a bit more control then the traditional slop box. Not to mention, having no tq limits at the bottom end makes the car even more of a beast.

Denroll did it locally and likes it. I have not pulled the trigger yet. (I'm not much of a mod guy)

Tcu here, shifts quicker on sport mode, raised limiter and removed tq limitations. Manually shifting the car is still slow as hell, i can shift at 6000rpms and it engages around 6700rpms.

Qualcom is 1/8 mile as is Barrona.
There is no 1/4 mile anywhere in So Cal. Fontana is shut down, Iwindale is shut down
The closest 1/4 is Bakersfield.. Hell, Firebird might be closer
1/8 is fun to go out and race your friends, practice launching and nailing down 60'.. Plus, its easy to go, run and get home in a couple of hours-
Oceanside (Carlsbad) has not had drag racing since 2005 ish

Thanks for all the reply's.. I'm leaning towards doing it as E/C will give me a pretyy decent price.. I pretty much always drive in sport so quickened shifts is always a good thing...
Dane, as soon as it cools down i'll be out there for some runs, never done it, but definitely want to...

Well I'll be damned.... I did not know that. Bummer. I guess you'll just have to roll out to the long empty streets in Irvine by the toll road then.... lol

Seriously ??? Mine shifts much quicker than that (i'll look at some logs, but it has to be in 1/10ths of a second) and I have not even sent my TCU in yet to be reprogrammed. Maybe your delay is because you are pushing 1000 hp and your car is just too fast .

chawkins is not saying the shift itself is slow, its the time from hitting the button on the steering wheel until the actual shift begins. No way to log that.
I have been told the TCU tune improves the quickness of the shift itself. I don't think it affects the responsiveness of what has been referred to as the:
Shift Recommendation Buttons

If you downshift while in S mode, it will still auto shift up at redline, yes?

It's good to hear the real scoop, as many users have claimed that it sped up the button response.

Torque limiters....?
If removed, does this in theory mean that we're toying with the life of the transmission? If not, this in itself + the higher rev limit would make it very much worth the purchase.

When you make more torque than the limiter is set at, it feels like old school Traction control. It will cut fuel ect.
So removing the torque limiter will allow you to use more of the available torque
Will this decrease the longevity of the transmission?... maybe, but not in itself. The modifications taking the drive train well beyond its design (HP/TRQ) comes with risk, and most who mod accept those risks

I see...but wouldn't that just make the car harder to drive fast because if you're a girl like me and you like the TRC coming on to stop you spinning, it would give more torque before the system stops the power?
Ahem, if only....if only, a 2.8+ diff conversion didn't cost an arm and a leg for this car....

Check out the torque dip in the darker line here. First run was aggressive with throttle and hitting the tq limiter and the second run was a gentle throttle roll-on without hitting it. I have since received the updated tcu reflash with the higher limits, but I have yet to hit the dyno again.
