My wires were in great shape. I think they tested at around 15k ohms resistance so they were good to go. I had the number in memmory on my multimeter so I can find out for sure. The stock wires are very nice. Mine were perfect and within spec so heck yea, I will use them again.

Plugs are in, video below. Very happy with this, "Mod." If you're still running stock plugs, install these ASAP! The car runs smoother, quieter and sounds/feels, "Angrier/Happier" if that makes any sense. It's almost like with just this mod, everything becomes, "Right" with the car. I literally feel like I just did a full tune up to the car, while in reality all I did was install new plugs.
Do this mod and I promise you, you will have zero regrets. If you still don't believe me, watch the video!
Thank you all again for those that helped me get these plugs and gap them properly!

With with the E55, it's actually quite enjoyable. I call her my, "Fortress of Solitude" as I'm in the car for ~3 hours every day driving to work.
Best car I've ever owned. Ever.

I am really glad you changed your spark plugs, but unless your car was running like complete crap, I really don't understand why you are getting so excited...I would guess your car would respond equally well to an oil change too
Since you posted a video a while ago and just now, compare the time from A mph to B mph and see if there is a significant difference. This could be really interesting for you. The colder plugs should help with knock, but if you were not knocking and pulling timing before, you won't see any power gains.

Now you're probablly right they're not adding 50+ more HP, but based that I'm 600+ HP at crank, they will only help. I'd chalk this up to, "It will only help and not hurt" mods, similar to the Johnson Pump IC upgrade I did when I first got my E55. The car runs much, much smoother after I put this in, almost feels like a full tune up, this is clearly a benefit.
Feel free to search this board and I challenge you to find one bad review of these plugs. Plus they only cost me $108 shipped to my door.
So yes, this makes me happy.

Heck yea, The dealer says the plugs are good to 100k. That is crap and if you wait till 75k your car will run like crap. Alex had succes with the new plugs at a reasonable investment. He wanted to share the results. How can you troll that? If your air filters are clogged, your car will run like crap, but hey, it is only a simple filter change, what does it matter? Not getting the logic. Nice pulls Alex and thanks for taking the time to document your impressions.

Again this was $108 for parts and 2 hours for labor as I'm not skilled enough to do this myself, so no regrets. Put another way, if they sucked or if I made a mistake, I'd admit it on this thread.
Thanks.

NGK-LFR6A are stock. NGK-LFR6AIX are the same temp and are a better plug for a stock motor imho. NGK-LFR7AIX are a step colder and are great for boosted motors. A step colder plug on a stock motor won't hurt anything but you will also not get the full benefit of the plug.
Ok thanks I'll get some I'm at 87K and I'm probably running the original plugs...sometimes it really feels like a blown 5.4L (mustang) rough and chopping at cold start...
I'll have more boost by spring so I'll start with this...

So...these plugs are also used in the Subaru WRX 2006+ , and the Sti 2002+...so i found a Suby Tuner selling them for 30.99/set of 4...I ordered 4 sets thinking that they are probably wondering why I'd want 4 set of the same plugs!
30 mins later I get a call from them asking, if i knew it was 16 plugs I was ordering. I said yes they are for a E55 AMG....and i got 16?....Yep 16 i said!
Good customer service on their part i think...but who pays $123 for a set of Suby plugs anyway?...I'm sure they are out there...LOL

I'll be doing mine tomorrow morning !!...keeping whatever gap is in the box as long as they are consistent.

They are pre-gapped to .050. You SHOULD gap them correctly. The pre set is too wide. It is your car so do as you will but if you want to go 40-50k before the next change, set them to the correct gap.

i left mine at the preset of .050...... does changing them to .32 or .35 really change anything? my benz tech said he changes them all the time with just the preset from factory for installs. i'm in az with very HOT weather being the norm

Most come at .05 and they spec at .032. That is a major difference
