Are these stock air filters? Also something for the TTM Scoops crowd to consider....

Spent more time poking around the car today looking for things to replace.

Dug out a bit that fit the air filter covers and was shocked to find what was inside. Are these the factory original filters!? I ordered new MANN filters from rock auto for cheap ($20.79 each) but the ends seem to have different printing which makes me think these were what came on the car from the factory.

Damn things were filthy.

Now for the big TTM Scoops guys, I also found this in the air boxes. This was with all the factory baffling still in place. I imagine it would have been much worse with those big honkin scoops up front. Something to consider perhaps. (the passenger side had a lot less junk less for whatever reason)

Never seen a pile of sand/dirt in amy of the 30 or more cars I've owned over the years. Not even my trucks I'd off road and cover in dirt and mud. I was really shocked at the pile of sand.

[presses "play" on his iPhone sarcasm app....]

Since it has been claimed by many here that the TTM scoops offer no additional airflow over a stock intake, there is no plausible way the amount of debris collected in the air filters would increase. Can't play that argument from both sides....

That is, unless the TTM scoops have been scientifically engineered to attract only leaves and dirt while effectively blocking out the beneficial extra air...
