Need advice | Weistec Oil/Air Separator
Guys!
Need advice on the Weistec Oil/Air Separator.
http://www.weistec.com/m156os.html
Would really appreciate feedback from people who have used it.
Would also appreciate if someone can explain in layman's terms, what it does and if it is necessary for the 6.3 AMG engine.
Appreciate all help and advice.
Thanks
Hasan

Basic .....
Excess pressure in the crank case vents back into the inlet manifold , the air contains contaminates and this filter removes them . Stopping build up of contaminated in the inlet system . Also as oil has a lower octain than petrol and mixing it with the intake charge lower the octane level .

Thanks!
So I guess its good to have it.
Is my engine at risk if I don't have it?

I would not say "it is at risk", but generally a catch can is considered a nice addition if it is made well (which that kit appears to be).

LOL well no, but I am fiscally conservative
(aka cheap)....
I like and use the DC3s from http://www.saikoumichi.com/ ...these are some of the best cans I have used.
I also just saw this http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/52205/10002/-1 , but I have never used it before, but I like its size and the clear bowl design.
