TTM Yellow Scoopers-Close ups-Install
Yet another thread on these.
FYI, rule number 1 if you plan on installing, place tape on top of the scoop for fitment reasons as the sharp edge under the hood WILL/CAN damage the top of the scoop. DO NOT COMPLETELY CLOSE THE HOOD. Remove the grill and check clearance prior.
Arrived ,inspected, overall good condition. Nice 'seams', couple of rough spots where there are blobs in the seams (not pictured), but most of it looks good. A little light on the edges, tough to keep coverage there. But overall, good condition. Pleased.
Long hose on the pipe behind the scoop. Short hose, tossed in the trash. Instead I used two plastic spacers from my flat screen TV mount, angle cut to push the scoop towards the rear a bit for a flush fit. Playdo on top for hood clearance-be careful, it can very tight and hit the hood edge.
Just need to PC the rest of it and pickup a carbon fiber engine cover and tubes. Good purchase. I suppose it is like a nicely done breast enlargement, augmenting instead of overdoing it.
Yes, yes, I know, clean engine bay. On the to-do list.

Question for you, OT regarding your lights. I've seem on eBay. Would you say they are a great buy? Deff. Unique, believe they also come in black correct? Any night pics with lights on?

They are not 'bad' but not good either. ***** to adjust vs. stock, but that light pattern is whacked! I works, but you will blind everyone on both sides and 20' up in the air also. Yes, they are adjusted. Unless different bulbs are supposed to be used. No instructions included.

Was looking @ that, however reviews are all over the board. I can only say that with my 55w HID kit in oem housings, it embarrassed a new LS460 and Infinity on the highway with the coverage and beam with very little intrusion to opposing traffic. This is not my DD and I seldom drive at night anyhow so it is low on the priority list.
You recommend any particular company?

Wow what a b*t@h to fit, I was just about to give up but modified the spacer just one more time and then it seemed to slot just right. I had to raise the bonnet a little as well and the second was in and done. Was 1 hour prep and getting it wrong and 20 mins once it was lined up and I finally drilled the holes!
My engine bay is not quite up to pearlpowers so excuse the fact it needs some TLC. Can't wait for my python tubes to get back from powder coating!
