SC doesn't turn on in 1. and 2. gear ?!
Hi,
my Supercharger doesn't turn on when i put the pedal down slowly and then more.
Till now it just happend in the 1. and 2. gear.
The car feels like an E320 and in the 3. gear the car drives normaly again.
We connected the car with Star and there was just one CEL.
TCU.
We can't delete it. But the car shifts totally normal.
I really don't now what else can be wrong.

The errorcode was: TCU defect
We tried to delete the code but i comes up again.
The car shifts really fine and everything looks normaly
We changed the sc bearing maybe there is really some oil.
Is it necessary to open the bolt again?

The oil will eventually just rub off on the SC pulley , just run the car normally and it will be ok, if you take off the SC pulley and clean the bearing then it will be hard to put the SC pulley back on

My frist thought was the same after the sc-bearing chance but now i've got this issue for about 500 miles and always just when i accelarate slowly over 3000rpm.
After 3000rpm i can floor the pedal and nothing happens.
I'm really confused

try the following.
in your pm you mentioned that you actuate the SC clutch via star right?
Now have a passenger actuate the cluch while you are driving. I would actuate it at 2000 rpms. Borrow a TCU from another E55 with the same s/w numbers and see if it solves the problem.

Okay we drove for One Hour with Star.
We checked boost reading and It showed 1.739 hpa at Full throttle.
Could that really be True?!
We actuate the sc clutch during the engine was running an there comes an Noise that isn't normal. So i think the clutch is Bad.

1.739 hpa is 0.02 PSI (pounds per sq inch) - so if we factor in what is likely barometric pressure, you are getting Zero boost.
Clutch is a likey culprit. If you did not do the battery trick I would start there, but I assume you did that.
Also, I am not sure how this works, however I am sure someone can explain:
If the Inter-cooler pump is not running, the SC will not engage. I don't know how the ECU knows, but I have seen a bad pump prevent SC engagement entirely.

Sorry my mistake. It was 1739 hpa.
But i think that is too much because that would be 25.22 psi!
http://www.vacuum-guide.com/english/...pascal_bar.htm
The ic-pump is running all the time and i can hear it. It works.
My iats are around 28grad (82 F) even after some hard pulls on the highway.
Ambiet temp. was 16grad (60.8F)
I got the feeling the clutch is bad because that noise when it is activated.
We'll try another clutch i still have of my old sc.
Maybe it will solve the problem.

Don't laugh at me, but what or how much is baro pressure? :-)
Edit: I found it. We got around 1bar (14.5psi) baro pressure.
So that means i have got too little boost right? (10,5psi - 0,72bar)

Steve we just could see at star while driving that the boost never was over 0,72bar (~14,5psi)
Also when the sc is engaged it doesn't stop it just don't turn on sometimes in the first and second gear.
We install the old clutch and an new belt today.
But i'm not really confident if that is the reason for the low boost.

Florian - - - What I am asking is; was the car working properly and then suddenly stopped working properly or, did this problem develop over a period of time?

No steve, the engine stopped working properly.
Until the engine blew up the car run fine and pulled hard.
Now we swapped in another engine and another sc also.
The engine runs fine but we got the problem with the low boost and don't have the same power like before and that the sc sometimes don't actuate.
But the serious the 'sc turn on problem' don't happens always. Just sometimes.
I'm a little bit afraid because we bought the sc at ebay.

We installed the old SC-Clutch and now we got 1,05bar (15.34psi) in the 2. gear at wot.
Baro pressure already subtracted.
But i'm not sure if that is correct.
But the problem is still there.
In second gear at full throttle the esp light begun to flash, and the power was restricted after i got grip again the sc didn't switch on.
