What parts from a wrecked E63??

So a buddy of mine just totaled his E63, 2009 I believe. I'm thinking of grabbing some parts. So far this is what I've got in mind, front is smashed, so likely nothing there...mine is a 2.003 E55
  • Navi- should I even bother, mine doesn't have navi, is it worth the trouble?
  • 3rd brake light- how hard to remove?
  • Trunk chrome strip- again, how hard to remove?
  • E63 exhaust- I can handle removing this.
Any other ideas? I haven't seen the car, but it was hit in the front and it rolled, so the front, wheels, and mirrors are trash...first things I asked about.

Thanks in advance,
- Zishan

Already have the taillights...should of mentioned that...my bad.

I also have the trunk spoiler, the E63 front end conversion, and unfortunately the interior is different color than mine.

The truck chrome strip is the whole panel. It's fairly easy to take off though. I can take pics of the back of one if yould like to see where all the clips are

The car is silver, with grey interior.

Yes, please, I would reallllllly appreciate it. I'm planning on grabbing that, but I don't want to take too much time trying to figure out how to pull it off. Thanks!

Not sure what color the steering wheel is, but I know the air bag was blown. I'll keep an eye out for that as well.

Any thoughts on the navi?

there's a thread about that on the first page of these threads.

as far as the navi goes, in theory, it would work as long as your E55 is using a fiber obtic cable system with harmon kardon audio. that's just a theory though, i'm not sure.

Nope. not if it's a 2009.5 car. THe NTG 2.5 is incompatible with NTG 1

If I were him I'd grab the comand, amps, SDAR box and any iPod/mmi that car might have. then get a harness from Comandonline.co.uk and install it. MUCH better than the stereo on ntg 1 cars

This is the info I need! Too bad I'm AMG illiterate....I'll have to look and see what/where these parts are.

I believe it's a 2008. I haven't had a chance to talk to my friend, I'm hooking up with him this evening. Hopefully get a chance to grab all the parts I need tonight.

Btw, my car has the HK system with the voice controlled thingy.

So insurance companys in Houston let you strip down a car and pay you out for it? Here in Bc were're barely allowed to take our belonings out after they delcare it a write off,let alone pulling out navi and steering wheels.

Most of the time as long as you remove small parts they don't care.
