I'm sure a lot of you also received the email today offering a lifetime mbrace membership for $299. Normally, I think this runs $280/yr...

Does anyone have this system that can describe the benefits on an '03-'06 E55? Initially, it seemed like there might be some cool features (remote lock / unlock from iPhone) and some ability to send maps and directions to the NAV system from a phone or PC... but on these older cars, it seems like almost nothing is actually supported.

For a 03-06 E55 it should replace tele-aid
I dont think you get any of the perks of MBrace Plus which is the Iphone App

MBrace is too rich for my blood
Appeals to people who cant use Priceline.com

According to the mbrace rep I spoke with you can't even "lock" the doors......"unlock" only.

Most of the value (if you want to call it that) comes from SOS features, Roadside assistance, Notification if your alarm is tripped, etc. Pretty worthless stuff IMHO.

I signed up to the lifetime membership deal about two years ago. I use it occasionally. For the lifetime deal it was worth it for me. If I had to pay 280 a year not a chance.
