MB Star Diagnostics?? WTB
I am looking at picking up a Star Diag system. Anyone have any suggestions?
I had one previously, but sold it to another member. It was a Chinese version running in VMWare, and that is one alternative, but wanted to see what was out there and get some ideas from the forum.
Dev mode is a requirement.

I too am looking for a quality sds with developer mode. Compact 3 or 4. What is a good price/source of a reliable quality unit? Ex less than a few grand. I'm not a business so $7.5k + is way too much for me. My china one died a while back and need a new one. Thanks

There are 100's of sellers online selling Star set ups and finding a good one is hit and miss, especially from Chinese sellers
I took the chance with this seller on AliExpress and it works perfectly

Yes full dev mode and developer keygen
I have currently used mine to
Delete Rear O2's
Disable EGR
Disable SAI
-10 Fan Mod
Scan and Clear Faults
Reset all adaptations and set other values back to defaults
Performed diagnostic tests on O2's, Throttle Body, Sensors
Went to lower it but driveway was on an angle and thought twice before applying the settings
I am sure I have done more but that is just off the top of my head
I have currently used mine to

Sounds like a good choice you have made. So can you share the specs of the computer you have used ?
Did you have to install something on the laptop when you got it ?
The Shardul option is certainly interresting, but I'm in Europe, so that will be only if I don't find other alternatives.

Everything was on the HDD fully supplied, all I had to do was run the keygen after boot to enable Dev mode as it links to the hardware fingerprint (don't quote me on this as it is just from memory)
Basically, installed HDD, clicked around for 5 minutes, figured out what value I needed to copy to the Keygen and it was all good to go, plugged into car and all connected first pop
Just note: I am not pushing sales on these, you can buy what ever one you want where ever you want, I just solely answered the question the OP asked
I did enquire with Shardul and another member before purchasing this one, but it was a bit out of my price range at the time, which is why I winged it with this Chinese seller and luckily got a decent setup
