Exhaust question (California)
I tried doing a search but found nothing on passing smog.
I am looking to remove the resonator with an X pipe and the secondary cats.
My question to the California members is "are you able to pass smog when removing the secondary cats" or should I just remove the resonator?
Thank you for your help

Good luck with that.....
California has some of the most draconian smog laws on the planet. You are not allowed to change ANYTHING by the strict letter of the law. Even the cats must be 100% OEM, no substitutions are allowed.
Having said that, there are plenty of "friendly" shops around who can help you get around the laws. It would be smart to ask for that kind of help via PMs of course.

Easy. I have shorties, no 2nds, and resonator delete. Passed fine. Just find someone that is too big to look under the car for the visual. Also lower the car all the way to make things tough if they have a mirror. I now have 200 cell primaries so that might be a challenge next time around. They will not even put the car on the dyno.

I too will have to deal with this issue next year.. The CA laws change in 13 I beleive, no sniffer anymore, just hook up a computer to the car.. As far as visual not sure, I have LTH and no primaries..

Going to need something, generally 300 cell or higher cats suffice. 200cell like I have is pushing it especially since I'm missing the secondaries. I will worry about it in a year.

Yes, you will pass as long as you have primary CATs.
