You can almost hear the impatience in Bruce's voice..... Gimme a REAL burnout, dammit!!
Loved the video where the 60' flashes o the board. Bruce seems to know that the "perfect run" is falling into place. Would have enjoyed hearing more of the celebration at the end of the pass.... It really helps capture the excitement of the moment.

Thanks, and congrats on your new pb. I'll reply to your PM here, it has the original stock converter. Quite a few guys have 60ft'd in the 1.5's with the stock converter, and recently RBJ hit a 1.49!!!

Congrats to you and Bruce, both car and driver consistency is on another level Brandon, you deserve it, a lot of hard work! I wish I knew it was a private rental I would have been there.

OE Tuning C63 AMG
World's Fastest E55
Yesterday was one of those days when nothing goes as planned. I'll just stick with the performance issues. Upon getting ready to pull the E off the trailer I discovered that the passenger side intake tubing was missing. It had been borrowed while my car was at the shop and forgotten about. Also MIA, was my memory card for the dashdaq which meant no data-log, and my flash loader for changing tunes, both of those were my fault. Not such a great start.
First pass was just to make sure everything feels ok and the track was good. The next two passes are below, both 1.50 60fts. On both passes you could feel her pulling hard through 1st and 2nd, and then in 3rd the nose would drop off. That ruined two potential passes in the 50s!!!
Nothing had been changed on the car since last month when she pulling strong through the entire 1/4. That said, we came to the conclusion that at the higher mph, having one intake tube on and one off was causing turbulence across the t/b opening.
The next pass we pulled the intake tube on the driver's side and the mph shot back up to where she should be......who would have thought that? We were on the right track. Obviously pulling in hot engine compartment air wasn't doing us any favors so we needed to figure out what to do. At the same time, Mike(Dodger) had called and suggested going to HD and making something. We were due for lunch so we left the track and set out to find what we needed. During our travels we picked up some flexible aluminum tubing, duct tape, and a new memory card for the dashdaq. We made a new intake tube and crossed our fingers it would work. The next two passes are before (hot air) and after (cool air). Not much of an improvement, maybe the eng/trans was too cool from sitting?
We were running out of time at this point and decided to replace the driver's seat with a lightweight Sparco (passenger side had been removed at beginning of the day, rear seat still onboard). There was less than 20 minutes left when we laid down our next pass, a 10.53. We gave her a quick 10 minute cool down, added some ice to the reservoir, and right back into the lanes to get our last chance of the night.
Finally, all the pieces clicked together with another 1.50 followed by my best 1/8 et/mph to date and a new PB.
I'll be adding videos later. Any questions, ask up.
*Note, the times on the slips are one hour ahead of the actual time, so 5:00 on the slip was really 4:00.

S or SL intake tube on drivers side, stock boxes, 80mm Y, removed filters.
Jeremy has been a big part of this! Congrats Jeremy
My car has spent very little time on the dyno. I never even dyno'd it with the 185 pulley and i/c.
Race star.
Right back at you big guy. Thanks again!
Thanks buddy. It was a last minute decision made late Thursday afternoon. Also, part of the reason why we showed up unprepared. Send me a PM with your cell, ok?
Thanks man! Nice deed you did there for denroll.
Thank you sir.
Never dyno'd it like that.
Thanks for all the support Jeremy! I have some changes in mind, we need to talk.
Very much appreciated, Thanks.
Thank you man. I'm trying to squeak out everything I can from that 185.

I put together a vid of the three best 60fts from the 30th.
What works for me is: suspension on comfort, t/c disengaged, sport shift mode in 1st gear. Your burnout plays a big role in how much traction you can attain. Once the rear tires start spinning, I begin to back off the brakes and let it up shift to 2nd, then ride out the burnout for a car length or so. Take your time staging, make sure you are in the grove and straight. After the pre-stage bulb is lit, hit the brakes. Now inch up until the stage light comes on. Reaction time has nothing to do with ET or MPH, so again take your time when the tree comes down if you like. I flat punch my car from idle...it's a simple and repeatable method. hth
