Which deductible to choose...
Picking up my first E63 today from Carmax and after much reading here I am opting for their extended warranty (MaxCare). I want to at least extend it out to 100k miles, so these are my options:
Deductible $50 $100 $200 $300
Price $2,859 $2,569 $2,099 $1,799
All are 6 years/100k miles. It basically boils down to how many times I think I will have a warranty claim over the next five or six years. If it is less than 4 times, then I should get the $300 deductible. If it is 5 times (but not 6) I should get the $100 deductible. If it is 6 or more claims, then I should get the $50 deductible. So, those of you who have these cars, what's your best guesstimate as to how may warranty claims I might have over the next 5 or 6 years that I will own the car.
The car is a 2008 with 46k miles. Not that it really matters for this conversation, but it is Arctic White, black interior, with Pano roof and no 030.

I'd guess you'd be in for service no less then 3 times, and up to 6 wouldn't be hard to believe.
A good question here is if something small broke could you wait for more things to go wrong and get it all done at once (one deductible paid), or would you want to bring it in each time something small broke and pay the deductible each time?

I went with the $100 deductible. Also, it turns out that the deductible is $50 cheaper if you take the car to CarMax for the work. My local CarMax has told me that they don't work on AMG cars and just send them to my local MB dealer. Might be worth looking into further.

Yeah i was in the same boat, leaned to the $200 deductable. Since i've had the car i've noticed the keyless in the drivers door is becoming hit or miss, and the lights in the visors as well. I'll probably wait for one more thing then take it in for all little issues, to save both money and time, as I'd get annoyed with the coordination and downtime just to get a passenger visor light fixed. basically, even if i had the 50/0 deductable, i probably would still wait till a couple things were wrong, then take it in, so might as well pay a little less up front

It's really hit or miss with these cars... I have an 06 with 68k on the clock now. When I drove it every day, the factory warranty was still in effect (yours won't be though) and had only two issues... One was that a side reflector fell off and the Second was an Airmatic issue. The extended warranty expired in June of this year... I didn't use it a single time...
I rarely drive the thing now though and if I do have an issue, I would probably repair it myself any way...
