Sold - 05' E55
Put a gauge on the car and see what the AFR reading is. No cats will give a rich smell also.

To put it simply, increasing airflow would only lean out the mixture if the fueling was stuck at a fixed value, which it is not. Adding boost would put you on a different part of the WOT fueling map.

As PACougar pointed out, Kleemann is not going to change the target AFR for closed loop operation.

A lot of guys, including myself, use the Dashdaq/zeitronix combo with a windshield mount.

I see. Just getting into these cars not sure how the ECM strategy works..
I was assuming they ran of an open fuel loop with a closed loop for idle and economy.

I do have their cams. but I am checking all breather hoses, replacing valve cover gaskets, plugs.

I did get a MAP implausable code.

This place is a joke.
Charly this smell is normal since your primary cats are gone. I also have Kleemann headers, and was just dyno tuned by Eurocharged and mine smells the same after a hard acceleration.

Even when your drive a bone stock car hard it makes a burning smell from the cats getting ultra hot.

If you do not have cats it all, of course the car will "smell rich". Especially when its just idling. They stink.

The Kleemann headers leave the secondary cats in place, of course they are not as effective as the primary cats since they never get as hot.

Thanks man ! I think you are right. Since I installed the header and pull hard then the burning smell. I guess I was paranoid when my mechanic test drove it. Just thinking if need to upgrade the SC pulley. According to Kleemann my tune is good up to Crank pulley 172m boost so I think I should be fine.

I wouldn't worry too much about lower pullies. The most recent failure is just fresh in everyones heads but hasnt happened enough to make me want to advise anyone against a lower pulley. (unless you dont have a trustworthy shop) You live in So Cal. Take it to Benzworks and have Serge do the install. I drove my car hard for nearly 10k miles with a 180mm ASP on it. Never wobbled, threw belts, or squeaked.
