My winter setup..drive more raised or swap rears? Pics
I pushed it a little far this time with 295/30/19 Pirelli sottozero winter rear tires. It rubs on uneven roads and taking an exit normally means smoke coming out of the wheel well.
Raised - no problem. I just don't like the look. Stance, son!
3 months or so to go on this setup. Thoughts?
Looks **** though. Wheels are my old 19 euro63's.

This is one of the reasons I'm glad I left Massachusetts and moved to Houston! I'd say go to a more narrow rear tire. Wide isn't great in the snow anyways.

Rather than running in the raised position, what about just raising the car 1/2" or so. I think it would be a decent compromise. Car looks great!

Awesome present! I say drive with it in comfort (should be a tad higher than sport 1 or sport 2) If that doesn't work, I say move down to a 285 and drive as is.
Proper stance and wheels go a LONG way. Car looks fantastic as is my friend!

Thanks Sun! Only driving in comfort, our roads are total garbage so it scrapes often still..took an exit at like 40 yesterday in the daytime and saw smoke shooting from wheel well. Been driving it raised since. Maybe I can just keep doing that where I need.

Man tough choice. It's all about the look, and you have that covered. So i would say a smaller tire, before raising the car.
Nice set of tires for you too.

Out Of Control!!
Looks sick, however I would run a smaller tire.
295 in snow is going to be useless with such little tread depth, no?. Not sure how wide that rim is but if you could go to a 280 or 275 I bet you would have no issues

Tires are getting expensive. With my drop I only get a few months out of them. 285's I've had on many wheels without issues. I bet 295's would work if they weren't wide winters.
Thanks Aaron.
I think tread depth is fine. We shall see what happens in deeper snow though.

Yea I dig it. Think I'll run this setup for the next couple months raised when needed..then do a smokeshow before going back to the cv3's ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Kyastas - I looked hard for a place to roll fenders, how much wider did yours come out? I am under the impression e55 fenders are already rolled and 2-3mm extra with chance of paint cracking is best scenario..
Clkclk-that's the point, was going for the mean meaty look. Rockin' rims in the wintertime.
