Is there a lockbox for the E?

Didn't seem to find anything, but has anyone ever seen a part that makes the space under the seats lockable? My old ML55 had a lockbox under the front passenger seat, was kinda wondering if anything similar exists for the E?

So for firearm owners who need to store something in the car, what do you guys do?

Depends on state....IIRC MAss the weapons needs to be in a locked container. An ideal place would be in the seat compartment of the E55. Perhaps retrofit a lock to comply with state law.

In Florida transporting a handgun can be in a zippered case, holster, or unlocked container. Just in case of you fear the rise of an tyrannical government or decide to repell an incoming invasion on your morning commute.

The trunk is the only place I would feel comfortable storing a firearm.

The under seat compartment is great for CCWs but even if it had a lock I would hesitate to trust it to the unattended storage of a firearm.

If you have your concealed weapons permit why not just keep it on you?

Gun free zones are ridiculous but that is the reason for me. The bank, DMV, movie theaters and so on.

When transporting they are locked in a case and in the trunk. When I am carrying its on my hip, but in the small chance I am entering a federally protected area, I need to store it in a locked box attached to the vehicle.

The lock box in the ML worked perfect since it was bolted to the car under the seat. Maybe I'll look into retrofitting a lock on the seat box

I've been trying to figure out a way to get a decent lockbox in the W211 as well. I've seen them made for center consoles on several other vehicles, but have yet to find one for our cars.

If you wanted one, where would you prefer it?

Not in a vehicle, the rules are diffferent for every state.
Even in florida. Cant conceal a weapon while in the car.
The ony state that allows a CCW or CCL in the vehicle is Colorado where the state has determined that your car is an extension of your home.

I just recently found out in Florida, an employer cannot terminate you for keeping a weapon in your car while on company property. You cant bring in with you to work but you can keep it in your car.

With a CCW you can carry a concealed handgun while in your vehicle in the state of NC.

My reciprocity card also reads that I can legally do the same in 32 other states as well.

CA CCW allows you to have your gun anywhere inside the car and loaded. We just have to inform any LEO that we have a weapon in the vehicle if they pull us over or approach the vehicle.
