Selling E55... put back to stock, or leave mods?

I'm thinking about selling my car. The question is: Should I strip all my mods off and sell in stock configuration, or sell with all the mods in place?

I kind smile when I think of some lady filling the meth container every other week -and- "Is that nav mom?" - "No son, that's the data logging..."

Mods:
190mm Pulley
82 TB (MB)
TTM Fuel Rail
FF LT headers (Custom 3" collectors")
Custom exhaust (3" SS X-Pipe to Resonator)
OE Tuned (524/599 last dyno)
Devils own Meth injection
New Avant Garde M550 w/new tires
ZT-2/ZT-3/Dashdaq

Milage is around 94K. Car has been P E R F E C T

Replaced motor mounts, and all maintenance is "over done"..

I looked at autotrader (200 mile radius) and low is $17,9 high $28K

Probably looking to get $18K either way. Selling the mods once pulled off would be more trouble than its worth..

What do you think? Put back to stock?

Part the car out.. Although it might seem like a hassle, you will end up getting more money back in the long run.

18K is not a stretch
Local member with a 04 with 90k miles got the car valued at a BMW dealership and they offered him 17.5k.

Would you be the one doing the work or would you be paying someone to do it?

Try selling it with the mods and go a little higher with the price. If the car is clean, 20k would be fair with your list of mods. The labor and parts are worth a few thousand to someone looking for a fast E55.

I would have "my guy" do the work to put back to stock. I have everything right down to the wheels with stock (new) rubber..

I would take some nice pics of your car and throw up a feeler on all the boards you frequent. I did that with mine and ended up selling the car with all mods to another enthusiast (within two months) who loves the car as much as I did. Just be reasonable with the mods in the price and I'm sure you can get close to what you want for it. GLWS!

i was thinking of doing the same and my car has about same mods as you minus the meth and logging equip.... and i came to the conclusion that i would only get a few hundred bucks for each of the used mods so probably not worth it to take the time to take them off and sell them separate.

If you're looking to do the part-out within the next couple weeks I would be willing to take the long tube headers off your hands and I have almost new stock headers to trade if needed and im local.

Ill do that.. I would rather sell to someone who wants a modded E55.. but I have all stock parts, so it is not a huge issue.

NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Remember laying down the smack on a Gallardo?

If you do sell, I'm driving you straight to the Benz dealer to look at one of the new TT models.

And trade me wheels straight up.

But don't do it!

Unless you've thought it through too many times.

The car:

2004 E55 AMG
Mileage: 94500
Color: Tektite Grey

Options:
Keyless Go
Parktronic
Pano Roof
Solar Panel Option
TPMS
Electric truck close and lock
Dynamic Seats
Heated / Cooled Seat
Side and rear sun shades
Xenon lights (auto leveling)
Navigation
CD Changer

The only two options it does not have: Distronic / active headlight (turning) - That is all I can think of

I wanted a fully optioned car, and found this one after about a 6 month search. One thing I really wanted was the solar panel option. Its fairly rare. The car was an absolute virgin. Original owner was a woman who owned a winery in Sonoma Valley. The car had 60K when I got it, and was bone stock. Every single thing she had done was completed at the dealer where it was bought new. I bought the car from that dealer when she traded it in.

I find that I rarely drive the car. I wanted to build a FAST street car that could go to the track. There are no tracks in CA, so that is out the window. It just sits, and that is a waste... Car is a perfect daily driver, but I prefer to keep it safe at home vs. the **** parking lot at work (Landscapers 6 days a week, tiny stalls)

Ill add a few pictures:

If he's intent on selling it, I can vouch for it. Super-clean car and really fast (when he remembers to fill the meth tank).

The solar panel option is super neat. It operates the fan to circulate air when it's hotter than the devil's grundle.
