I like it without the star (CL grill on the way). I wish I had a better picture with Star, maybe someone can post one.

I always like the sleeker look of the flat badge.

I prefer the flat badge. If you get the CL grill then absolutely go with the flat badge.

My $.02

Although I have the star, I would prefer the flat badge. I'll be ordering one soon

So what is it now? Are you saying CL is not a Mercedes?

I'm leaning toward the flat badge as well.
Looks much better on a sport-type car, while I prefer the star for more conservative sedans.

Definetly the flat badge! I never have liked the huge Mercedes logo sticking out on the hood!

I got a flat hood badge, but the diameter is a bit larger (about 1/2") than the base of the standard hood ornament, so it won't fit in the depression in the hood, like the stock one does. I haven't installed it yet. Is this how yours is? How does it fit/look?

Rather than buying a plastic SLK MB badge, I bought a metal AMG badge on ebay. Looks awesome and fits properly too.

That's an outstanding look, RaveE55.
Where did you buy the CL grille?
How much was it?
I think I'll look into the same set up.

I bought it from Performance Products, but beware the housing used to hold the center star will need to be rmoved and painted glossy black, that is how the oe looks, for some reason performance products does not paint theirs and it looks horrible in a cheap looking gray plastic.
