yes, it is lower but not by very much. Here is what my 2001 E320 looked like with E55 springs...

also, be sure to use #1 spring pads all around

how much lower is that? and did you chang your shocks as well?

I'm looking for about 1" drop only.....

also, luke from tire rack said that if I get the E55 springs, it will actually raise the car because the E55 springs are meant to support the V8...

what do you think?

I don't remember exactly how much it dropped, but somewhere right around the 1" mark when using #1 pads. My car came with #3. That would lead me to believe the springs alone will drop your car about 1/2". Yes, I also put on the E55 shocks, but any quality aftermarket sport shock will work. Lately, I have been liking the Koni adjustables.

Luke is wrong. The drop isn't much, but it is lower.

KWik, Your ride looks sweet!

should I go Eibach springs($265 new)? or should I just get the E55 springs on Ebay (only $80)... ?

All I want is about 1" drop.

I don't plan to replace the shocks yet.

what you think?

since you only want about a 1" drop & won't be changing shocks, either springs will do. (AMG w/ #1 pad or Eibach w/ #3 pad).

If I was doing another E, I would probably get Vogtland or Eibach springs with Koni adjustable shocks. This way I could just change pads if I decided I wanted a little more drop.

Or you may get the Kleemann springs, it lowers your car about 0.75" to 1".
