Some pics of these beasts both on and off the car would go a long way in procuring interest!

I agree, for the money you're spending on any LT solution I will be sticking with whats been proven many times before.

Yea I realize its unrelated but after getting rid of my car I realized things weren't that over priced for it. **** for my M is crazy expensive but its an even smaller market so I get it.

Just waiting a few years then grabbing a ML63 Biturbo.

No worries, I don't think it's unrelated at all. I do think that because people believe these prices are somehow reasonable for what you're getting just because they're for insert luxury car here is what concerns me and drives up the prices.

MBH vs Benzworks would be an interesting comparison on the dyno. Both are mid-length (collector before the 90*) while the Benzworks has the larger primaries, and doesn't neck down to below 3" at the collector.

ARH headers...true long tubes in stainless with 3" collectors for $1K less ($500 less if 10 people commit to the group buy) but have a clearance issue on driver's side.

But, we'll never see them compared, so I guess a guy has to go with what he's most comfortable with.

I agree, but I think most people are "most comfortable" with whats been proven through testing and not just claims. Now that doesn't mean the others won't perform, there just doesn't seem to be proof.

Very good point. Especially with such a large investment.

I would be surprised if the mbh, benzworks, and any other long tube were more than 15-20 hp apart from another....all within acceptable margins of error for different humidities and other correction factors.

I would bet the kleemann's would be at most 10hp behind if that. Hard to beat kleemann's for the price.

The kleemann's have been on several 10 second E55's too. They Didnt seem to be hurting my power at all but I do believe the 1 7/8 would make more power. Blower cars like to BREATHE!

I will bring the car to the dyno next week and have tons of data to compare before and after....All I can say right now is these headers (and my guess any others for that matter) are a HUGE improvement over the stock manifolds.

I know folks will always say X is better than Y, but I am very glad I went with Benzworks headers...

Without a doubt, the stock manifolds suck.

I am a long time Benzworks customer and have been so happy with their service that they are the only shop I go to for my car. You have to remember that you are not driving a mustang. you are drive a Mercedes with a hand-built engine.

I have had their headers installed for a long time now and I am extremely impressed with the power. I firmly believe their product is worth every penny and they stand behind their product 100 percent. It is extremely well made and I have no issues.

You cannot monkey around with these cars by installing cheap bolt-on products. You are asking for a lot of trouble if you do. If I had it to do all over again I would still go with Benzworks. The team there is top notch, knowledgeable, dependable, and extremely trustworthy.

As for the headers. I have no primaries, but the rest of the exhaust is stock. I like the setup because it's total sleeper. looks stock, sounds stock, until you get close enough for me to snap on you. It doesn't drone on the freeway and I love the sound so much that I hardly turn on the radio anymore. If I step on it you can tell something is up and after a brisk drive the pipes are warm, which gives the car a deep hum at idle. Even my neighbors have asked if I done work to the car because the sound is vicious when I take off.

It is definitely money well spent in my opinion

Agreed! Serge did my coilover conversion and I have nothing but good things to say about the crew there. I saw the E55 headers and inquired about them, they look beefy and of high quality in person. A little high priced for my taste but I certainly understand the price and market.

ARH are $1000 more, not less...At least when I was quoted a price....

I liked the Kleeman's as well (value perspective), but when I thought about an additional 20+ whp for another $1500, it seemed like the right path for me....Frankly I did not want to spend $1K + on a throttle body to gain 10 - 15whp and have potential issues, and decided the money was better spent with a great header setup.

ARH are $1,900. You can get the whole system, including mids and x-pipe, for $2,790:
