I agree in practice what you're saying is what's going on, however just because a car costs more you think it should cost more to make a part for it? Don't get me wrong low volume and made in the USA definitely adds to the price, but I think you'll find that doesn't come close to making up the difference to the crazy prices some people are charging for these parts. Eurocharged for instance has 82mm TB kits for sale right now at 1350.00 yet others are selling the exact same thing for 1800-2000. It's the markup on Mercedes parts or Porsche parts or GTR parts that's ridiculous. All that being said, if you can charge it and people will pay for it more power to you!

So what I'm gathering from this thread...
TL;DR
Please make a Chinese product for people who just want to say they have long tube headers on their car. REGARDLESS OF PERFORMANCE.
all kidding aside.
Just start a group buy thread I'm sure 5 people will want to pay to play.

Just curious, but would you mind sending me a few pictures of the headers and the clearance vs frame/heatsheild? You can PM me, doesn't necessarily need to be posted here. Just want to see how they are bent/formed differently than mine.

Sure , just PM your email address and I will send a ton of pics...I have to post on here as well, but it is a PITA to resize, etc.

Just a quick update from me: BenzWorks is sending me a new set of headers to clear up my fitment issues. Will be getting Swain Tech coating on them to help with heat-will post pictures whenever I get them.

I've had every coating out there to help with heat. The best thing by far is the lava heat wrap. I can do a run in my truck with EGT's in the 2200 degree range and after cooling the turbo for 3 minutes I can touch my down pipe. Not the bet looking or easiest to do but really helps with the heat.

Why would I look at 63 headers right now anyways? I have a 55.
You think 2.5 grand for headers is a good deal? Not talking smack.. But, really??

You really haven't seen prices for long tube headers from other brands have you?

$2,500 for group buy does not sound like a good deal.
Just my 2 cents.

It is just the mass produced part that makes the difference. I built headers for my straight 6 for instance. These are probably what most would consider a mid length. Materials cost alone was North of $1,000. This is with running off a set of 5 flanges to get the cost down per. And not going with the most expensive materials possible. Just stainless mandrel bends and slip on collectors. I have done v8 headers also an they price goes up to around 1,500+ in materials depending on length. Now if you want to produce these in a small amount then you have to jig it up to replicate which is time and money. I figure it is about industry standard between 5-8k to build the first set in time and materials. Then you sell say 1-2 sets a month at best. If you have someone sitting down and cutting an sizing pipe and welding it together 2,500 is free. Or you have be huge and by a ton of material and a mandrel bender and size it all and load it into a computer. Then you could have each primary perfectly bent and then fit it into the flange and the collector sitting in a jig and then you could make headers in a couple of hours. Different scale completely.

Agreed, $2500 is not a good deal at all. I know Mercedes header are expensive by small quantity but $2500 sounds like normal price to me. I rather spend $1000 Kleemann header and $1500 on something else. SC pulley $500, TCU tune $500, injectors $500 However, I am down for $2500 to $2800 for Coil-over conversion !

Yea man..... I am not crazy about the power right now... thinking more about the handling. Plus, who knows when the airmatic suspension will die on me. Mine is 06, they will all fail soon or later and I plan to keep it for other 4 to 5 years at least so the airmatic got to go.
