Very nice set up ! When is the test day? Is the whipple valve , just basically a turbo blow off valve?

Did you consider making the spacers out of phenolic?

If the whipple valve he's using is the same as the one they use for the Fords and Hot Rod kits, its more like a throttle body blade with a rod hooked to the cam instead of a cable. Then a diaphragm can pull on it from wherever you want. They're easier to fit in tight spots than a BOV

Hopefully putting it on in the next month or so. Whipple valve is just a mechanical bypass valve. You know we talked about doing them in phenolic and I still may change them in the future, but having no experience with it I wasn't sure if making 1 1/4" spacers of phenolic was a good idea.

The only reason for the spacers is so I can fit a enormous intercooler under the SC. The new intercooler has 60% larger inlet size and has 220% the
volume of the the original. I should see a lot less pressure drop from the SC discharge to the intercooler discharge. I'll also have a done for cooling capacity!

Have you installed the bigger intercooler?
Does it work the way you thought?

Here in Germany a company called TTP had buildt M113ML with about 750hp (at crank) and the boss of the company told me they used the stock IC up to 750hp.
Their optinion is, that there is no need for an IC upgrade.
Upgrades for the IC-system are necessary, but no upgrade of the IC itself.

There is quantitative data showing there is a problem with the stock intercooler via hundreds of data logs, both while logging on the dyno and on the street with larger heat exchangers up front, larger coolant tanks and higher flowing pumps. The boss of that company is an idiot lol. He may claim 750hp when the engine is cold, but then ask him how much hp it has after it does one run.

I just want to know, if the intercooler is installed and how it works.
Just wanting to know if this activity is worth on cost-benefit-ratio.

@PACougar: Do you have any data log before and after installation? Development of IATs?

As soon as I get a tune to eliminate the bypass I'll let you know. For other reasons I have the heads off right now, should have it back up this weekend with the new IC. As David said above there is lot's of data dealing with how crappy the factory IC is. If you need real proof look to MB, they built a top mount system for the SLR and that car is nowhere near 750hp to the crank. If the stock IC has no problems going that high why would they have spent all that money building a unnecessary setup for a 626hp car?

To the best of my knowledge, Cougar got frustrated with no one being able to tune his car correctly so he parted it out and is now building a sick Chevy truck.
