Supercharger charges the car in 30 minutes and for the model S access to the supercharger network is free. The model S at full charge is super quick, but it's only good for a couple runs.

The battery is actually like 40 grand. Also if you don't keep it plugged in and it goes dead in a couple weeks it needs a new battery at 40 grand.
I drove to St Louis with my buddy in his flatbed to pick up a totaled Tesla to bring to the Chicago Tesla shop in hopes the battery was still good. They're big bucks.

You can't prevent stupidity so to blame this on Tesla is ridiculous. We've all seen the owner who didn't change the motor oil that destroyed the car. That's the example Tesla gives and it fits. Owner negligence is not the manufacturers responsibility.
As for charging the car it really depends on the system you choose to use. They have abilities with 110, 220, and 240 depends on what you want to use in your house.
As for how fast, the car basically has full torque/hp from the moment you step on the pedal that's a huge advantage.

I've seen one on the street so far and I've been in one dealer showroom (UTC Mall here in San Diego). They're pretty neat looking cars. The showroom has one with the body stripped off. The entire floor is the battery, so the center of gravity is very low. I hear these things are pretty damn good handlers. There's also no annoying transmission tunnel hump, which gives the interior a very spacious feel. That dang info screen is huge, too. I don't give it much longer before somebody hacks it and has 17 inches of **** playing while they drive.
I hope they do well.

I'm new to the site and not much of a techie. I recently discovered water underneath my carpet on the front passenger side of my S550. The dealership estimate for repair is about $3000.00 and my insurance company has denied the claim citing a manufacturers defect in the s series Can anyone shed any light on this issue and how I should proceed with this situation? Very Frustrated!
Haha. Sorry to bring this back from the dead. You guys are fools. Based on her post, valleygirl could be extremely hot. And you guys were total jerks to her. No love for you

I actually know her, she's a gorgeous early 40s MILF who's LOADED, single and insistent on getting a boy toy from mbWorld. Luckily I repaired whatever the issue was and she's now my wife (no prenup) which means not only do I have a super hot MILF wife but I'm also RICH, I mean 100+ mil rich. You were right cyberorth and whoever blew her off missed out on the opportunity of a lifetime.

My E55 believe it or not does not hold a candle to the tech in the Model S and I love my E55. They announced battery swapping for the price of 15 gallons of gas. That basically makes any sort of battery price complaint moot. For the price, it is an amazing car that just scored a 99 out of 100 from Consumer Reports. Most publications gave it their car of the year this year. Really when you figure how much you spend on gas a month and then compare it to the $5 in electricity it takes to fully charge, the Model S is a car ahead of it's time. Take a look at the stock price if you wonder who is betting on the company to succeed. The car has the lowest coefficient of drag of any production car built. It is silent and powerful. When you buy it, the 4g/3g is and supercharger network is built into the price of the car so it is paid for. Silicon Valley is full of happy owners. 300 miles is only the tip of the iceberg. I do not work for Tesla btw. I just want to buy one really bad..HA!

I got into it with one about 2 weeks ago and let me tell you it's fast off the line no tire spin, (I spun mine) eventually pulled on him but this this Shocked me.. Went thru some twisties and it was Surprisingly nimble for it's weight. From a roll I will Definitely take it, but I was a little shocked.
