2003 E55 AMG MOTOR IN 1969 CHEVY NOVA
I have a totaled 2003 E55 amg the motor trans and computers are good. I was thinking about trying to put them in a 1969 chevy nova project I picked up. What do you guys think? How complicated would something like that actually be?

you'll have to pretty much remove damn near every sensor monitor, but then again - you don't really need to have a check engine light installed either

You will need to run it on a stand alone. Rad rides by Troy did a Buick a few years back and it cost them a additional $100,000 to do it (vs a ls1) using factory g55 control units. You may be able to run it on that new aem though

A better place for the kompressor motor might be in a CLK or SLK at least they have all the sensor mounts and a instrument cluster that is at least a first cousin.
Like most will warn, the "electronics" have no simple fix, and that is a huge barrier to cross brand transplants.

Standalone engine and transmission computers. Getting the factory stuff it work is horrible and not very reliable. You also have to keep the title and registration to order any theft related parts like key, ignition, steering lock, ecu. etc. Any good standalone that can read 60-2 teeth and twin plug ignition will work.

Why not just swap in all the electronics as well, I don't understand everyone's negative comments? The engine doesn't know what kind of car it is in, it simply needs its parts to work correctly. Swap them in and I see no problem.

I'm more of a domestic gearhead then most here it seems, and I think it's a pretty cool idea. Would definitely be interesting and attract some crowds at a show.

I'm with urbamworm. I mean I agree there a lot of other motors I'd put in first but that's besides the point. I'd run the car on a stand alone, and use all the sensors that come with that ECU. When it's all said and done its just a motor and only needs 3 things to run. All that extra stuff that Mercedes includes doesn't need to be there. I think a simplified and stripped down m113k woul be pretty cool. The only two things I'd recommend you ask your self is how much are you willing to spend on making it happen and how much power are gonna want in the long run. Personally I wouldn't go with our motor just cause I wouldn't wanna be held back
