What quarter mile time will my car run?

Hi all

Just trying to get some input into what times people think my E55 Kompressor will run down the quarter mile with the following mods:

TTM air intake scoops
FTP 3" ceramic coated beast inlet tubes
K&N air filter panels
Eurocharged 82mm throttle body
Eurocharged 550cc injectors
Supercharger Pulley for an extra 1.5 to 2.0 psi
Difilippo branded medium length extractors with primary cat delete
Split intercooler kit with Eurocharged upgraded front heat exchanger and trunk mounted water tank.
All tuned by Jerry at Eurocharged for 95 to 98 RON fuel in Australia.

Regards,

OZZYAMG

This place is a joke.
Drag radials, street tires? Weather-hot or cold?

My guess 11.60 to 12.40 depending on those factors

12.40? With an 82mm TB, ECU, pulley and 98??? I don't think you'd post stock numbers. Not unless you butcher the launch.

Hi

Ok keeping that in mind do you think cracking an 11 second pass will be possible on the street tires?

Yes you can get in the 11s on street tires. You will rely heavily on track prep.

Track prep and the right weather and you should get into high 11's, if its a carpark and your launch is not right then low 12's

With those mods, you'll definitely crack 11s even with street tires.

Go to a well prepped track on a cool night (under 60F), though. There are many W211s that get into the 11s with just a pulley + tune (hell, I think there a couple stock ones down to the tires on the board that cracked 11s!).

Good luck

Honestly on street tires, I think you have a better chance hitting an 11 with a tune than with pulley and tune for the simple fact of having way better traction from less torque down low.

I went from a 180 crank pulley to a stock pulley for a short period before switching to supercharger pulley. It was unbelievable how fast the car was down low from real slow speeds since there was way less traction control intervention when on stock pulley and it just pulled hard instead getting to use all the power on tap. I do have headers and bigger throttle body though.

Track prep. Being a novice I had no idea how important that was.

I took my car to the strip once...a total novice driver.... and on ****ty Nitto's I only got 1 60' under 2 secs....but still trapped 117-120...yet my best time was 12.01.

The real drivers on the board gave me some sh*&...and encouragement of course...and assured me that with a controlled launch I'd see mid 11's easy.

If you're like me and suck at getting off the line (now I know...get out of there WITHOUT traction control kicking in... but it's so tough to restrain!!!) you won't get anywhere near it. Listen to these guys...it's all about the launch and our cars have so much power you have to restrain yourself.

Now, mind you, that night while I was out there I didn't care because it was my first night and my girl beat everything that lined up against me (lots of 11 second cars).

I said that I would never go to the track but this thread will have me itching to go to englishtown one time maybe, after I am done with a few tricks but I do not think that I will ever do a pulley. Maybe there is someone on long island that has run at the track and I can simply run with them from a roll, in a good safe spot of course, and just see power for power...that would give me a good idea of what I would run without even going to the track!

These cars with stock pulley but with headers and a big throttle body with tune haul ***, especially in cool weather. You don't need a huge pulley.

There are guys that have ran 122mph in the 1/4 with those mods on a cold track day. And I have said it before but driving the car around town with stock pulley vs when I had a 180mm crank pulley, it was so much faster accelerating down low. I am talking BIG for the simple fact that with the upgraded pulley you are getting to much torque and the traction control will kill power until 60+ or 70mph where when I had stock pulley it just pulled hard with only a brief flash of TC sometimes if I was going very very slow when I took off.

I have the stock crank with smaller supercharger pulley now. I have almost no driving time with it though since I put it on then left town for work for a few months and am finally about to return. I will get it dynoed and the tune adjusted if it needs it then see how things are compared to my old setup when I get the chance here soon.
