Small Stage 1 setup .. Cant decide on Pulley *HELP*
Looking to get a Little more HP out of the E55...
Im starting with cooling, 010 Pump Wired Key-on, Upgraded HE , and Split cooling with the bmw reservoir .
Now im deciding on the PULLEY, I know I want a 185mm Pulley which gives the car an EXTRA 5psi.
But ive been reading around, doing some research and it seems like you Can Just get a Supercharger pulley and it will increase boost by about the same 5psi .. Is this correct ??
Only reason I ask is because of 1.The Ease of installation and 2. Price.
The car once complete will Get a custom tune.

No.. The smaller supercharger pulley will not increase boost 5 psi.. More like 1-2 psi.. Its similar to running a 168mm crank pulley.

Killer Chiller over larger HE, at least if most driving is street based and occasional high speed blast on the hwy.

I'd do either a sc pulley or a 168 crank, not both (at least from the sounds of your intentions, which is bumping the power up a bit).
Most people are satisfied with just a crank pulley + tune upgrade (hell, others are satisfied with the stock power).
My advice would be to do the sc pulley with a tune and if you're thirsty for more, drop a set of LTH and do a dyno tune.
WARNING: The mod bug never goes away, though, so prepare your mind accordingly (and your wallet!). You might want just a little extra power now, but you will get used to it. Then you'll drop a bigger crank pulley, then headers, then TB, then cams etc. Then you'll want something faster, sell the car, buy something, same situation.
It's a vicious cycle that NEVER ENDS!

^Lolz, so true. This is why I've been stock so far, haha. ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
OP, I would go S/C pulley & tune for a starter/small stage 1. This is what I plan to do if I give in to the mod bug!

The good thing about the smaller s/c pulley, is that its maintenance and performance all in one! Your stock pulley is bound to **** the bed at some point anyway.. Mine as well change it for the smaller one.. And you dont have to worry about improper install like the crank pulley.. Oh and its lighter than the stock pulley. Its a no brainer.

What Kind of Gains are to be had with a SC pulley and the cooling mods im doing with a tune ?
Cost for everything seems to put me around $2000 , will this net me more then 50whp ?

Contact Shardul, he's a member here and sells a beautifuly crafted smaller s/c pulley for our cars for a hell of a deal. The tune shouldn't run you over 500.

I believe he meant with the cooling mods as well (heat exchanger and split cooling). The pricing on tunes and other parts are mighty attractive now though.. Much more so than when I first picked up my E55.
