Will I still be able to drive my car with a gear change and no TCU tune?

I will get the TCU Tune done by EC but it won't happen till the end of the month, but I have a chance to change the gear now.

I called EC this evening but I think they already went home.


Any help would be appreciated.

You can do a search here, there are a few threads that have first hand experience.
Some got limp mode.

While you have the stock 2.65, you will need to tune your TCU with any other gear ratio change,

cause the TCU should to know the new gear ratio to till the ECU for saving the new RPM changing speed.....

What I need to know is if I will be able to drive the car until I get the TCU tune?

If I can drive it, I will change the gear tonight.

If I CANNOT drive it, I will wait till I can get the TCU tuned.

it will not be driveable, might get stuck in certain gears or go into limp mode

Its soo risky to drive the car with-out TCU tune,,

you may damage the clutches, and oil will be soo hot, which may damage the speed sensor in the conductor plate,

and harm the valve body as well,,

Don’t give your self a bad nightmare.....

just tune the TCU first, then change the gear ratio, this is the best & safe way.....
