20K, it doesn't replace the factory SC with something bigger and you don't end up with a built motor. Your neighbor was ripped off.

Edit: No timeline for me. Someone with the means just do it.

Brother, I will see you there this October! You have to meet me at Eurocharged in Houston and have your beast dyno-tuned. Trust me, Jerry will find more hp for you.

We had a good time. Thank you for the videos!

I can meet you at Eurocharged, let me know when you will be in town.
If I do anything else to the motor it will be Weistic Stage 3 supercharger. I am really impressed with Jcart’s car. (1000 HP Weistec CLK63 Black Series)
The only thing holding me back is do I get a 2014 4matic and change out the turbos or supercharge the one I have.
I need to do some research on the pro and cons of the 4matic.

Eurocharged's estimates are right on.
From experience down here in Miami, at the last event, it took at least 900hp for any cars to do 200mph and we had a strong back wind in our favor.
I do not believe a vette with only 700rwhp would get 200mph. Something is just not adding up.
I wish Texas was a little closer.

LSX Dyno Tuning Performance built the vette, it made did make under 700RWHP according to them and it ran 201.4 MPH to set the NA LSX Texas Mile record. Honestly why lie about the power they're making, if anything they'd want to lie about how much power something is making. Don't forget weight matters a great deal and a stripped down vette isn't breaking any scales.

IMHO, supercharge the CLS63 and call it a day. Your car is immaculate, man! 1000hp monster would be a blast to have. Besides, walking the path most traveled will not only save you a lot of headaches....but money too. Let them work the bugs out of that 100k car before you take the plunge. Just my .02

Nice time and 178 is very respectable. The mile is addicting.

When I ran 180.5 mph,( about 3 years ago), I was making 550-560 RWHP on the dyno and dynoed before and after. I think the exact number after the mile was 554 RWHP to be exact. Lot of cars make a lot more power than 554 RWHP now, so beating 180 mph , would will just take those cars getting out there and live to the end of the laser beams. BTW, my wife actasully hit 190.4 mph first, then I came back and got her by .1. She still not happy about that.

Yes, I make a lot mowe power now and have since I added ported heads and other mods, but have not been back to the mile yet. Hope to go this October, if the weather is nice and cool. South Texas can be 60 deg in October or a 105 deg.

Damn that's flying. Did I interpret correctly that he was sandbagging it? What would be the point in getting to 200, then cruising through the traps just under 200? Different safety equipment needed for a >200pass perhaps?

Yes, 190 mph is one class and then over 200 is another, as I recall. You do not need very much saftey modalites at 180 mph but each 10 mph, rules change a lot.

98Aggie (Kurt) , has been cranking out some huge powered Texas mile/ 1/4 mile cars. We have had a lot of dyno/party AMG meets at his facility over the years and always a good time.

Ahh ok that makes sense like staying under 150 in the 1/4 so you don't need a chute.
I've never met the dude but I've seen him over LS1tech over the years, I think he used to mod a while back.
Speaking of LS1tech, I just cleaned out a corner of the garage that's been cluttered for a long time and came across a box from you from probably 12 years ago when I bought some of the stuff off your hawk when you parted out the speed goodies

Yep i built the vette that went 201.4 na. It made 684 rwhp througj a fast intake which is way to small dor this build. A sheetmetal intake is coming and should allow this motor to breath ad make around 740rwhp na. This wasnt a striped down vette like someone said earlier. This was a full weight car. The wind did help on sunday. I told the owner when it would run 196 at 684rwhp, And that is what it ran on saturday We had 15 cars out there this past march with 4 of them in the 200's

We made up a formula which gets pretty close to figure your texa mile speed it is
TX Mile MPH = 42 x (rwhp/(Cd x frontal area))^(1/3)

haters crazy
You guys are forgetting that peak hp numbers don't mean as much as area under the curve... Two cars that make 600hp can run different speeds

the mile sounds like fun. After i reach my goal in the 1/4 i might try the mile

Thanks for clearing that up since people Didnt think it happened. That's very impressive being N/A!! What kind of manifold are you going to use? Have you looked in to Marcella? They take awhile to be made but man are they worth it.

98aggie: thanks for clearing this up.
Do you mind sharing which dyno it was? Was it a Mustang?
The reason why I am asking is that no cars did 200mph with less than 900ish crank hp in Miami when I went. They were many vettes there and most of them had at least 800 rwhp to wheels to crack 190 or more.
I am not doubting your run, just wondering if the numbers were achieved on a heartbreaker which would explain a bit of the difference.

Comparing one mile to the next is also very difficult. The Texas mile is usually slow bc of the wind in south Texas. This year the wind was finally blowing in the right direction. The mile is a lot like dyno. You can only compare same day, same track, similar time period.
