![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
This forum is, by far, the most robust out there (GT-R forum worthless) so I hope you don't mind me asking a non E55 question. I bottomed out my brand new GT-R at the bottom of the driveway and put a small tear in the bottom of the front lip. Is there a cheap fix or am I screwed? Also, would a Stillen front skid plate protect the front lip or would it decrease my ground clearance even further.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

is it fiberglass? or abs plastic? if its glass then you could have it repaired and repainted but it may cost almost as much as a new one. if its abs the same applies

To fix it properly a good body shop will be able to bond the plastic back together and renforce it a from the back side and touch up the paint. If you pull the lip off yourself and bring it to them it would keep the cost down quite a bit. IIRC the front bumper cover on the GT-R's has to come off to get to the screws that hold that big front lip to the bumper cover though.

That lip is carbon fiber, as is the underbody panel that lies right behind it. The car-haulers mess them up all the time, and they aren't cheap.
For a proper repair, you will need to do a complete replacement. If you can wait a day or so, I'll look up the part number and cost for you (I work at Nissan).
Cheers,

I can't wait to hear the price that Kreuzfuer gets you! ...and he will probably get it for less than normal for you. I'm sure it is NOT cheap.

It doesn't matter how much the car is, no one wants to pay more then you have to and besides it is under the car...who the hell can see it? Get it repaired, if possible, so that it looks correct. If it is carbon fiber and there is nothing missing from it then have someone repair it from the backside and make it look correct as possible in front.

The skid plate will not prevent the splitter from getting damaged on extreme angles....

Sadly, since the parts are sourced from Nissan Japan directly, and the GT-R is a restricted platform, I won't be able to provide any deals. But, good info is priceless

OK... answering your first question about cheap... it depends on what is "cheap" to you.
Part number is 75830-KB50A
MSRP $1680.41
Right now, we only have 4 in the nation at Olive Branch PDC in MS.
The front fascia is TPE plastic, but this lower lip is a finished carbon fiber and is an integrated piece with the engine aero panel that extends back to the front axle. Sadly the lip is not separately serviceable.
You can expect a 3-day transit to your dealership if they place a stock order (cheapest shipping). To be honest, I wouldn't recommend airfreight given the awkward size of the part.
Hope this helps,
John
