Never really liked P cars due to the way they look and sound, but the new 991's are a big improvement in the looks department both in and out!
my other main issue is the god damn sound they make....its suposed to be one of the best sports cars out there and is used as a bench mark...
but dear lord that farting vacuum cleaner sound it makes is just

Farting Vacuum? I think these cars sound like **** at wot. At least when your behind them. They sound like they all have a fat exhaust leak. Yuck.
I'd take a Turbo Porsche any day of the week.

there are some cosmetic changes but the main differences that matter to performance are as follows
997.1 was introduced in 2007 and lasted until 2009.
It is a 3.6 liter non DFI engined car.
In automatic trim it uses a Tiptronic gearbox.
The 997.2 was introduced in 2010.
It is a 3.8 liter DFI engined car.
In automatic trim, it uses a double-clutch gearbox called PDK.
PDK is the big game changer from what i understand in the porsche world...
i think the 3.6 to 3.8 engine changed equalled about 40hp pickup in stock form, but i maybe mistaken

To me whats the point of having a car run something it can not possibly do in street trim..it is then not a street car, but a track car

the nice thing is a greddy b/c allows for a 93 oct street tune and a race tune at the twist of a switch

the 9.8 car is in full street trim with nothing taken out of the interior for the run. ez peazy to have a very streetable 1.5 bar tune thats will push 700 rwhp on these cars
I meant I don't like the sound of our cars. They sound like ****. I have a hard time agreeing with anyone that says other wise. They sound like they have severe exhaust leaks, but it is just the tone of the exhaust. Mine with no catalyst material at wot sounded ok. Nothing like an American V8, but what can you do.
When your behind a turbo 911 they sound incredibly bad ***. Even turbo cars with internally gated turbos let you hear when they open.
What do you guys think of the rasp of an E46 M3?
