Ford needs to give this car to SVT and let them install the GT 500 powertrain.

Not surprising, they are twin-turbo right? I had a 95 SHO and it pulled to 150mph no problem with the Yamaha engine. That car was a lot of fun, but front wheel drive sucks. The styling on that new SHO is just awful IMO, but to each his own.

I liked the SHO when the motor was assembled by Yamaha
It was a beautiful motor and could be used in RWD applications.

I seen one go 7.70's in the 1/8 a couple weeks ago. Had a Livernois Motorsport sticker but that's knocking on the 11 second door. Guy said it had a tune and intake. I test drove one last summer and was impressed.

they have alot of unfordlike features in the car . rear heated seats, front heat, cooled, massaging seats... pretty neat, but imop they look cheap inside, and the exterior is hideous. when you stand next to one In person it's almost suv status the way it looks.

Fun cars but the PCM is an absolute B*TCH to make it "play nice" with mods. My tuner had one, got it in the mid 12's, and just gave the hell up on it. Still a relatively new platform though, so we'll see what they can extract out of them. It's a sleeper, which is all I tend to drive, so I have to respect them. The LOOK of those cars does nothing for me though.

Certainly a nice car! But really...? The "world's quickest" compared to a stock E class AMG? You can make anything go pretty fast with enough mods and $$. Also, notice the low mph...It hooks pretty well off the line.

AWD rocks out of the hole, but then you spend the second half of the track dragging an extra drivetrain down it. Of course, the GT-R's seem to defy physics and just keep pulling like beasts.

I thought this thread was at least about the new 2013 Ford GT500 that makes 668 hp.

no i agree 12.25 is a great time but when u compare it to a E55 with slight mods and them 8+ year old cars running anywhere from high 11 to mid 10.sec the Taurus isn't really comparable to the E. Don't get me wrong now im not this "AMG" is the ultimate car kinda guy either but i do love my E .

I almost bought one before my E55 but the dealer wouldn't budge on the price and they ended up selling it later for less than what I offered. For a Taurus they are fast and with minor mods are pretty darn fast and they come with all the options the E55's have. I might get a used 2013 when I get tired of me E55.

I absolutely agree - but damn, a V6 TT pulling low 12's is pretty respectable in a car weighing 4,300'ish pounds

if a stock E55 wasn't paying attention to the tuned SHO next to him, it would definitely get off the line and surprise...

12.25 is faster than a lot of stock E55s - granted its a driver vs driver game within 3/10ths (or so) - and the AWD is a big plus off the line on the SHO

Give these cars a few years and you will see them down in the 11's. the stock turbos are tiny plus nobody has really tried to see what they could do with one yet. Ford was going to increase the power output for 2013 but didn't so makes you wonder why. I believe the ecoboost in the trucks has more power so you know they can make more.
