For the guys with muffler delete..

I was thinking about deleting my mufflers. I have 2nd cats and res delete currently and I sold my my meistershaft mufflers. Now I want the car louder again. How bad is the drone from a scale 1-10 10 being the worst for you guys.

Any power gains or power loss? I know they are heavy as hell so it should be a good 70lb weight savings mod.

I'll be running a few cars this weekend, fbo 335 with meth, e60 m5 stick fully Catless. I' currently have a euro charged tune and my car runs healthy. I was hoping some noise and some small gains will come out of the muffler delete

I'd like to know as well. Thinking of deleting the mufflers on my SL and having them replaced with resonators at the least.

A nice weigh saver ... other than that, I'd think you'd lose some torque down low, no?

I drove without mufflers for a bit, droning was horrible and it didn't sound good at all. Didn't notice any power loss or gain when I got on it. Rest of the system was totally stock

I'm glad they found a good home!! I enjoyed them as well!

Thanks for the input from the rest of you guys. I might go ahead and do this and if I don't like it I'll just weld them back together.

I always beat them but FBO with meth is side by side with me and I begin to walk them up top. With the tune I'm faster now. No meth or race gas and they have 0 chance at all speeds.

You'll save a little weight but no real power gains. The noise sucks ***. I can't get down the road without a cop following me. It's mean at first but gets old quick. Lol. I'm actually making it as quit as possible now. Better to be a sleeper.

That's not a bad idea.

I hold the fastest 60ft in an E55. I don't think it will hurt.

No where near as loud as mine. And yes, we can spare the tq.

If you have stock manifolds it won't sound bad. If you have headers it's gonna bother everybody.

Eurocharged long tube headers, not cats, x-pipe, stock resonator, gutted stock mufflers.

And RedBullJnky I'm afraid to delete the resonator lol

Take out the 2nds and cut the pipe. I have 3 inch pipes that dump right behind the rear wheels. I'll put up a vid in a little.

I'm dealing with drone myself now and decided today that I need to either put the stock resonator back in or some lightweight aftermarket resonators. The car sounded killer with the stock manifolds into stock primaries into magnaflow x-pipe into Eisenmann sport mufflers, but after I installed the Evosport headers last weekend, it got louder and it's drone city now. I have stock resonator and secondaries out.

Does anyone make some lightweight resonators I can have welded onto each pipe behind the x-pipe to get rid of the drone. The stock resonator is huge and very heavy.

Kind of like cut-outs? The removal of the 2nds is a blip on my new build but I'm just thinking how much louder can it possibly be with the 2nds removed? I patiently wait to hear your beast bro.

Arent you in the works for a TT build though? Bet those turbos will be loving your straight pipes

Kinda. I even get bad vibration (the cup holder and ashtray) at 45mph. It sucks! But I can't hear my sc whine what so ever.

Here's one from my driveway

And here's one from inside the car

You can also check out my youtube channel. It's "Redbulljnky" lol You can hear my car from different location at the track as well.
