Dreaded p5050 p507 codes after 82MM TB switch
#51
To be fair, the OP had an issue before he upgraded, and the t/b he tried was not only used but had been modified. In short, he took a chance and it will take a second try to get it sorted.
As well, skratch pointed out that he only used three of the four screw location to mount the throttle body(post #17). I surprised he got it seal up as good as he did.

Never threw a code and I'm certain there are plenty of more people without any issues who never chime in. Don't sweat it.

I never had any code with my 82mm. When I switched to the 90mm I did have the p5050, but Jerry was able to fix that thru his tune. So it's possible to have no code with the bigger tb.

Just got back from Speedriven!! Car is fixed Marcin checked everywhere for leaks with brake cleaner and found none, none by the injectors either. Swapped the TB with the new one I picked up and viola!! TPS is right at 2% in drive with foot on the brake. No more codes. He also reset the TCU and it is shifting much better, I was having a hesitation between shifts before. I tried the reset with my foot on the gas but it didn't fix it. Are we sure the Reset works?? Anyways the grinded TB is the culprit. Actually could see daylight if you closed it and looked at the space between the blade and the circumference. I'm thinking it was not put back together correctly after the shaft grind. So to all those out there that are following this thread, keep that in mind. Thanks to all the suggestions as well.

Same with stock... i have a brand new 82mm TB here (the right one for our cars) and you can look between blade and circumference is around 1mm of space the whole way around....

Not sure but the 2nd one I got with no shaft grind had much less clearance. Regardless once we swapped the TB the codes did not appear again and tps was right on at 2% so I am positive the TB was the problem

Looks good!!! My car is now running great and the codes have stayed gone. Also the issue I had prior to TB install is gone. The only thing I can think is we put a hose clamp on the vacuum line that hooks to the back of the TB this time instead of the bracket that was supposed to hold it tight. Maybe I was getting a small leak here and there before.

MAP Code!!
Was driving today on the highway cruising around 75mph. Felt a hiccup and noticed that my stft was at +25%, thinking WTF. I ran codes and have a P0105 I think, its manifold absolut pressure/barametric pressure circuit. Car is really struggling to find 14.7. TPS is normal though and this is the only code I can see with my dashdaq, although maybe there are others with star. I can resart the car and it will go back to normal afrs and fuel trims during cruising with very light throttle application. I could actually feel the car hesitate on the highway while it was normal then all of a sudden stft's went to 25% and could tell the ecu was having a hard time finding 14.7. Car idles horribly when in this state, can watch the afr's bounce rich to lean and stft's adjust trying to compensate but ecu can not get it under control. A simple restart brings it back to normal. Anybody know what's going on? Looked at the map on my dashdaq and it shows about 5psi under little to no throttle up to about 25psi at WOT. Looked at all connnections and dont see any vacuum leaks. Looks like I will be going back to Speedriven to see if he can figure it out

What do these do for you? I've never heard about them.

This is exactly the same issue I am having. If you find a solution, please, PLEASE let me know.
