Renntech E55, whats its worth?

Does anybody know how to properly value a vehicle with a laundry list of mods? I have an 03 E55 with 69,000 miles. Its dyno sheet reads 552rwhp, which estimates the crank around 670hp. im averaging 22 mpg. It has the full stage 3 renntech kit, stainless exhaust (resonator delete, headers ect), intercooler, carbon fiber airbox, throttle body, and a 180mm pulley. It has been fully dyno tuned and currently sits a little rich to prevent any engine damage. Two sets of tires. It has SL55 wheels with a factory look, but wider off set. I took out the crummy radio and installed the command unit out of a CLS55 for a more current audio system. (It does still say AMG at startup). With that I also installed the Ipod integration kit. Its been garage kept, and also have the mb car cover for it. Its has the standard sunroof, bucket amg seats, ect. Anybody know a ballpark figure of its worth? Its in immaculate condition, brilliant silver. Any ideas would be great. I've invested over 30,000 on top of the original price of the car.

This place is a joke.
This discussion about modded cars and value comes up often. Modding any car does not really mean the car is worth more than an original, untouched example. Sometimes, a modded car will be worth less. The amount of money you have spent (spent, not invested) is also irrelevant to most buyers. Also, being a 10-11 year old car means financing will be very hard to come by. So you are limited to cash buyers, which also makes it a difficult sale. And 2003 being the first year is less desireable than a 2004+ due to some of the problems during that model year. Ballpark figure? 14k-19k if you want to sell it. Is the gas tank leaking yet? That alone is a $3k repair. Does it need any repairs or past due maintenance? Here is a good read for you, concerning modded Benz's and their value:

Make note of the original post date.

In summary, how do you value a vehicle that is modded? You value it as you would an original, stock vehicle.

I would list it for $23k Where else can you get that kind of car (luxury and tons of power) for $23k? You can't so that sounds like a good number to me.

Obviously not getting even close to what you put in to it back but many buyers would like an already done up car and will pay a little extra over blue book for it and the mileage is fairly low as well so that is a plus. Unless you are desperate for cash, I would not give the car away for peanuts. They are rare and need to stay at a little premium for the car they are.

I'd be lucky to get $25k for mine right now at 70k miles. Better to maybe part out and recoup some of the renntech mods $$ back.

Using KBB, Edmunds, NAPA, and Clearbook.truecar.com the car is valued in that 14-19K spread.

Yes, the fuel tank has been fixed. I have been a master diagnostic tech with Mercedes Benz for 12 years now, and just finished my engineering degree. I know the car, and the problems associated the the 2003 models. Thanks for everybodys help, I have a good idea now!

+1 very well said ! specially about "Spent and not invested" most of people have a perception modding the car is an investment but the reality is "Spend the money"

Lots of time consuming work, when you can buy a BiTurbo SL and run it right now. Not that it would not be a cool project but, again consider the end game. You will be back in, what is this car worth? situation.
