UPDATE:
So Jerry's sending me a new pulley, which is great news. I take it this is the newer style. Now on this one, should I shim to .5 mm, or should I use all shims like Shardul has said with some pulleys before? Any recommendations on this?

I'd say it's safe to say no unsavory accusations or comments have stemmed from this thread.
One of the purposes of a forum like this is the sharing of information. If somebody can't start a thread pertaining to a 'possible' (Note: possible, not definite) design or materials flaw on a product that is sold by a forum vendor, what use is this forum anyway?
In the past, too many problems with hardware have been swept under the rug or ignored to the detriment of other forum members.
Or at the very least, post something to the effect that they are 'looking into the issue' (if there even is a problem).

I currently have one with the red bearing sitting on my garage table that was about to get installed. After reading this thread I am hesitant on doing so. So until I can confirm the one I have is the updated version it will just be an expensive paperweight.

I dont know for sure. But was told mine should be fine. After several thousand miles and checked again last night after washing car and still good. Def is better than the OEM i had that wasnt doing to well. Maybe in the meantime you can get a bearing and have that pressed into your OEM one and get that installed.

is there any correlation between having the belt-wrap kit versus just the pulley that may cause the failure?
i don't have the pulley kit - so far things are ok with my pulley

I am curious, have any of you other guys checked your belt and seen it jumped forward one rib on the pulley? I know E55greasemonkey was having it happen and so did I, I am wondering if it is everyone since the pulley isn't perfectly aligned the way it is designed or what? Have had no belt coming off issues, just the jumping forward slightly.

FWIW I also saw a customers car with a bigger crank pulley jump a tooth on the crank.

Received my new pulley Friday, red bearing in the center (for those that have asked).
I'll install mine within the next week or so; running a backup pulley now so no urgency. I have a couple of other mods I'm looking at that are taking priority.
That being said, I'm very impressed with the speed of the turnaround. Once again, Eurocharged offered excellent service and communication. Very pleased with them.

This guy does a pretty good job of explaining... I don't think the color of the bearing has much to do with it other than indicating a batch date. The bearing itself was not the fail point, but rather the springs.

Installed it myself so this was not an issue.
The new one's is black. I don't think the bearing is related to the failure or distinction between the old vs. new design.
