No Front Plate Ticket issued by CHP (CA), temp suggestions wanted!
Gents,
Recently issued a fix it ticket for no front plate by CA CHP. Are there any temporary fixes so that I dont have to drill my front bumper? Thanks!

No they would not be impressed, Plate must be securely fastened.
Ie screws, or nuts and bolts.
If the car is not too low then search out for Retractable front plate, basically pivots out from under the car, the plate is parallel to the road when in use and when desired the plate can be released to show up in front of the grill. Check it out!

As noted, you can use hardware from HomeDepot and use the existing tow hook to fab a makeshift plate holder.
Or, if you don't mind spending the money, you can have a pre-constructed kit that will mount right into the tow hook hole, $70. Install and remove as needed.

Try this, I did it on my Acura. Take some blue painters and place it on your bumper where you would like to mount the plate and then get some double sided tape and tape it to the back of the plate then peel off the backing of the double sided tape and place it on top of the painters tape.

I get a few tickets a year on the C55 for no front plate. I just zip tie it on the bumper grill and get it signed off. Not one time was hassled about it being zip tied on

Sorry about the price diff, but it looks like the motorized unit is 120 something on Amazon or 144 from the site. Looked to quick the first time. It looks a lot more sanitary then using the tow hook IMO.

Put your front plate back on... No more tickets, no more hassle...
Sometimes a slight cosmetic touch just doesn't worth the potential for trouble, last time I had a fix it ticket for a front plate, the CHP also write me for tint and modified emissions, I had me go though the State referee certification, which is a major hassle if you have a modded car.
