Grenaded supercharger clutch pics inside
Rolling hard up a hill, traction control light blinking happily , heard a pop, lost power....

Popped the hood at home, thankfully I was less than a mile from home. Piece of the clutch spring went right through the thermostat housing!

This was a brand new clutch assembly back in November of 2010, installed and shimmed properly. This failure has to be a manufacturer defect to break like that? Belt is fine. All pulley are good to go.

Zero chirping perfect engagement prior to this carnage. thankfully that's all it took out.

its not the clutch, its the pulley spring that gone by the looks of it.

that is a oem mb pulley. I have seen springs break on them.

Yes, it is stock. I thought you were asking about the main pulley.

Something was bound to break sooner or later.
