Maybe someone here can help. Last week, I started my car up and after less then a minute it died. Would not start up. Did not find any pressure in the fuel rail when I went to check. Checked the fuse and the relay both good. Said what the heck... Car had warranty so I had it to towed to an Indy. They Changed the pump and senders and called me to tell me the rear SAM was bad. He wanted to charge me 500 for a new SAM, so I called my parts guy and got if for way less. Brought it to him and he tells me that that it would be 420 to install it and code it. I told him forget got my car out and installed it myself. Now.... I was told that car should still start without it being coded. After I installed it it still would not start. When I jump the line to the fuel pump directly it does start. It seems to me that the problem is the fuel pump is to getting power, even though the fuse and relay are fine. I ruled out the CPS, since the car started when I jumped the line. Any help will be appreciated.... I am at Wits end.

Just wondering does the car have a "roll over switch" to kill the fuel pump in case of accident. Possibly being a Benz it may even be in the software?? Maybe a E55 owner has had previous dealings in this area! The Indy may be playing you with the SAM replacement idea. Good Luck and post your results Please.

Car has a Warranty, so I took it to an Indy.

What type of warranty? lol and why would you be complaining about cost if the car is under warranty?

warranty paid for the pumps and senders. The car still wont fire up. He wants 420 to put in the rear SAM and program it.

Problem solved. Since the fuel pump was going bad.... it blew a fuse close to the battery. Will get it on mon.
