ventilated seats not working- PLEASE HELP!!!

hey guys,

since i bought the car (03' E55 UK specs) 3 months ago the heat/fan of front seat wont work, same goes for rear bench heat.

what i mean is when pressing the fan/heat button on the dashboard or in the rear doors- it wont light/blink or whatever.

at first my mechanic gave me an answer that "those buttons are not in use and only for cars who had this option".
it sounded weird that a MB will have buttons for options which not installed in the car.
today i opened the back of front seats and as i expected- there's those small fans and the heat body (i think its the heat frame, those thin metals, but not sure).

i checked under the seat but didnt saw any fans, however i did see many different plugs with electric wires etc'.

need to mention i do not have any error code of any kind, all other seats option work properly (massage, dynamic etc').

i attached some photos for you to have a look, maybe you'll find something wrong and can instruct me how to repair it.

any lead and help will be much appreciated and i promise to be thankful forever...

p.s
dont know if its related but i found 3 wires in the trunk that they're plugs were unconnected (dont know what are those wires and where should they be connected).

plugs ans wires under seats:

the 3 wires in the trunk that wasnt connected:

i know some of you did some project before on those seats (such like retro-fit etc'), some of you fixed problems before.

i will appreciate any info/directions.

thank you guys.

Larger fans on car there's a DIY somewhere take the back of the seat off and you cut out a little piece and put in larger fans, in my opinion the stock fans suck there pretty much worthless anyway, but after the upgrade besides it being a little noisy ....hopefully somebody else can help you out with the mechanical issue of it....good luck

Buick T-Type, 70 cuda, S65 and a very FAST Truck!
The wires you are holding inthe picture are for the satellite radio module and antenna. There should be two very small coax connectors for the antenna, a blue one and I think a tan one. The connector with the orange wires is the fiber optic satellite connection. Sorry that does not help you out much with the fans....

Thank you for your replies guys.

I saw the DIY about the larger fans, its very nice but not solving the mechanical issue as said.

Regarding the wires- thank you for the infor my friend!
Any chance can you tell me where should I look for the modul should be connected to them? (If there's a picture even better).

Thanks again!

The 3 wires in the back would mean you need to buy the Sirius sat radio control unit and plug those into that.

Now for the seats, since you have the rear cover off and can clearly see the fan, when you press the button for the fans it should light up 3 bars in blue. If it doesnt light up check your fuses, if they light up look at the fan. If they are on then you now know why some have upgraded the fans to larger units. Yes they are a little loud but work much better but even then I don't really feel it when its blazing hot out, but I do always turn them on, it can't hurt.

Course if it lights up and the fans don't turn on, it will likely be in the mess of wires but I would think that would only affect 1 seat and not both. If both are affected then it would still be a fuse in my opinion.

the buttons wont light at all, no blue light for fans or red light for hear (same goes for rear heated bench- buttons wont light).

you might be right with your guess on fuses.

can someone please add a picture and mark for me the relevant fuses i need to check?

its a bit messy thing as i know wheres 4 different fuse boxes:
engine bay
dashboard
trunk (next to the battery)
trunk (next to the fender).

if someone can tell me which fuses i need to check it will be very helpful.

regarding those 3 wires, what's the benefit of that sat radio?
can i get the part number for the sirius?

thaks a lot guys!

That's not good. I say take it to Benz for inspection or it could be a fuse relay

any help guys?

can someone just tell me which fuses i need to check?

theres so many fuses in different locations so i want to check all to make sure im not missing any fuse (maybe have some burned or missing fuses).

as the problem is in the whole system i think it must be related to some main burned fuse (or they remove it or something).

thank you guys!
