My definitive Bruce@TTM HORROR STORY.
I dropped my car off at T/T/M a few weeks ago (June 3rd) for the following:
- Install Quaife/New Bearings
- Install MBArts Rear Toe Links
- Install MBH Headers
- Install new OEM motor mounts
- Install 16 new spark plugs
- Install ASP 3-piece pulley set
- Install new SC belt
- Re-Tune ECU for headers (EuroCharged)
My experience doesn't seem to fit the narrative that is being portrayed here and I'm not sure why, but since this was a very recent experience with T/T/M it makes sense to share it along with all the other stories.

While this is interesting, Bruce is a part of this community and has failed to respond. I would think, as would you I assume, that he would have responded. At this point his lack of response points towards his guilt. Not only that, but the OP has emails and text messages that support the claim. Also, I would say criminals look for opportunities, you being local was not a good heist as you were returning in three days to get your car. The OP is in another country and the picking was for the taking in a criminals eyes. Sad really. But what is more sad is his lack of response which proves he could care less. This is not what I thought of Bruce but then again you never really know a person.

You don't mind I ask how much he charged you for all that?
How is he going to screw someone that bring $$$ to the shop to pick up the car? He has to finish it to get your a$$. You pay when you pick the car up. If You go pay him first like op, go figure

Or maybe you are one of the lucky persons among some of the lucky ones?
Maybe he got $18k or more or too much $$$ from the others so that he doesn't care about yours?

Stories like Greg's are how it should be. Here is my car, here is what I want, shop does the work, shop makes money, everybody wins.
It's sad to see a shop who is set up for success go down the drain like this. They had a decent rep and seemed to have enough business to keep it moving. It seems like the corner cutting when it came to dealing with the "difficult" or "less desirable" customers and the trash talking of, well, everybody, finally caught up to him.
My method tends to be pretty fastidious (or neurotic depending on who you ask!) so the new products were all acquired ahead of time, and I provided a written plan for the work which included my estimates for how long everything would take.... so I had a very good sense of what my costs were going to be before I ever dropped the car off at T/T/M. Bruce had a copy of my labor estimates, so he knew what my expectations were from the outset and was able to stick very closely to those original numbers.
Personally, it's hard for me to agree to open-ended "time and materials" type work, whether its for a car project, or a home improvement project. It surrenders all of the control to the contractor and makes it impossible to see how badly the budget is being managed until it's too late.

1st Giving a shop to much money up front for parts and services isn't a
good practice period .
2nd Its always better to buy the parts your self and than pay somebody to
install them . List of what you want done and have idea of costs too,
3rd Have a shop perform work that graphically close so you and pop in
and check on project from time to time.
4th Have a enough knowledge of what you want done ,so your not ignorant
of what really being done to your car and possible problems and
outcomes.
5th Once you get the car back you should receive all the old parts ,
sometime people put marks on some parts that are being replaced
to make sure their not giving you phony parts back
6th Test the dog sh--t out the car for a number of weeks in all kind of
driving conditions.
7th If the car performs they way it should having new modds than you
got what you paid for
Man , I hope you get your money or parts this is the hardest lesson to learn from this High Performance game and is why some people just get out of modding their cars period . Also their people on this MB forum selling bad parts or questionable performance up grades and their in the same class as the rip-off companies . Back in my younger days street racing I've seen guys get their asses beat and guns in the face over bad parts and builds Badm

ZAYED,,
HA!

We shall see who has the last laugh, the money may be gone, no problem, I will re-buy the parts, I promise you, I will be fine.
But Bruce Bejsovec knows what's coming, he doesn't know when or how, but he knows it is coming, I will not say more because I don't want to ruin the surprise.
